Minutes from City of Brooklyn Center E.A.C
Those in attendance: Becky, George, Tara, Denise, Patti, Kristy, Jeannine, Robin, Gary
and City Manager Mike McCauley
* Shape up challenge was discussed. Things seem to be going well but participation is
down this year, it was discussed that a brown bag lunch from Davanni’s was a possibility
Medica would supply a speaker free of charge. Sign up sheet will be handled by Denise
and George.
* Flowers . It was decided that city park was too big of a project so we will concentrate
on the planters around city hall. George had talked to Malmborg’s about a trade for
flowers for golf passes but Mike said we may run into problems with other businesses.
The possibility of having sponsors for each planter was decided the way to go. Jeanine
said she would contact the Sun/Post to place ads.
*Mike addressed the EAC about this year’s picnic. The City garage is the site talked
about to have more privacy. Dept. heads would do the work and absorb the cost as an
appreciation to employees. EAC would supply the deserts?
Mike opened the floor for any other concerns. The budget was bought up. He said all
we can do is wait to see whose budget passes the house. That would determine what the
City will do.
*Operation Shoe Box. Donations are low, boxes will be put in each department as a
reminder. The lists of needed items can be found on line.
*Renaissance Festival discount tickets. Patty will look into it.
*Bloodmobile at city hall. Tara will look into it.
*Survey results. The most popular result was the cruise. It was discussed that for EAC to
charter a boat would cost too much. There are dinner cruises that are reasonable ( about
$20) and it was decided to print up a flyer and see what kind of a response we get. July or
early August are times that were talked about.
