EMPLOYEE ACTION COMMITTEE
MINUTES FROM JULY 17, 2002
Roll Call: Maria Rosenbaum, Diane Willgohs, Kristi Commers, Josh Marsh, and
Jeannine Pfann
PICNIC FEEDBACK
177 employees signed up for the picnic. The consensus is that the picnic was
“Awesome.” Food was great. People loved the Root Beer keg. Moving picnic to the
pavilion area worked out great. We will continue to use this new location.
CEAP
We will do the CEAP food drive from August 26-30, 2002. At CEAP’s suggestion,
we will recommend one food item for all employees to bring. EAC members at the
meeting randomly selected pancake mix to be the single item we will tell everyone
to bring. Employees will also be told they can make cash contributions which should
be given to their EAC rep and the EAC rep will purchase the pancake mix. As an
incentive, the department that brings the most pancake mix (to be determined by
number of items brought) will receive homemade cookies baked by City Manager
Michael McCauley. We need to provide our own containers for the food drive.
CEAP will pick up the food. Maria will put information in next newsletter. Jeannine
will work on flyer. If employees want to bring additional food items, they can; but
these items will not count towards the contest.
City Logo Clothing
Only 11 employees placed clothing orders for a total of $447. Clothing program is a
lot of work and very time consuming. It is not a fundraiser for EAC. Comments
from employees included: add denim shirts, add more items for women like polo
shirts. Employees would also like to see clothing with their own department logos
on it. Because of the mediocre response this time, we will not offer logo clothing
again in the Fall as originally planned. EAC needs to evaluate how often this clothing
should be offered.
Christmas Party
City Manager has given EAC $200 for door prizes. Party will be held either
Tuesday, December 17, or Wednesday, December 18. Further discussion tabled
until the next meeting.
Toys for Tots
No new information. Discussion tabled until next meeting.
Golf Outing
No new information. Discussion tabled until next meeting.
Next meeting will be at City Hall on Wednesday, August 14, 2002at 9:30 a.m.
