HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002 05-22 EACM City of Brooklyn Center Employee Action Committee Minutes Wednesday May 22, 2002 9:30 a.m. EBHC Roll Call: Jenny Whiting, Gary Coleman, Jeannine Pfann, Maria Rosenbaum, George Jenrich, Robin Hartfiel, and Rick Nelson. Summary Shape-Up Suggestions for 2003 Expand Poker Walk to Golf Course and Liquor store for 7 card hand, playing best 5. Work on getting a fitness and pool pass approved for 1 day team event. Suggest two go to the startup Shapeup info meeting for new ideas. Picnic th 6 Annual City of BC employee appreciation picnic is June 27 11:00 to 1:00pm. Central Park catered by Flik. Sign-Up coming with payroll checks. Maria checking on casual dress for the day. City garage setting up extra picnic tables. Holiday Party Work on date at the next meeting. Bring ideas and info on catering. EAC Committee members to bring deserts. Prizes? Trivia? Entertainment? CEAP Drive **It was decided to move the Ceap drive to a late summer event when they need donations the most. It is scheduled for the week of August 26. Ceap gets generous donations at the Holidays and would appreciate help in the slower donation times. A list of the most needed items will be used and with specific items assigned to the different city departments to help make the drive the most beneficial. This will allow us to focus onToys for Tots donations at Christmas time. Employee Clothing Robin is organizing the clothing order in the next couple weeks. Departments will receive information, selection, order, and display of some items available soon. Employee Outings George is working on a city employee golf scramble at Centerbrook. EAC is exploring the idea of a after work dinner and cruise on Lake Minnetonka.
