HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001 07-18 EACM EMPLOYEE ACTION COMMITTEE MINUTES FROM JULY 18, 2001 Roll Call: Maria Rosenbaum, Sharon Kutzke, Michael Krech, Ed Lovelace Bonnie St. Dryden, Jenny Whiting, Rick Nelson, Krisiti Commers, and Diane Willgohs Minutes Reviewed: Bonnie noted the remark under other business from the minutes of June 20th was not intended to offend any committee member not in attendance but was a request for members to make more of an effort to attend or send a department representative to the meetings in their place if unable to attend themselves. Not all departments have been well represented lately on a regular basis. Brown Bag Lunch: Only 11 have signed up to attend the Crime Prevention Seminar as of 7/18. Reminder note to be sent to employees. Other Business: No new business. Department Updates: Ed advised foundation has started to be laid for the Brookdale construction. Ed also advised of twenty-two new town homes to be constructed on the east side of Hwy. 252 at 66th Av. N. Mike advised the Public Works website still displays the 612 area code and will be updated shortly. Sharon advised Shelli’s position, Utilities Technician I, has been posted and closes 7/27. Sharon advised the direct deposit stub now are laser generated instead of check stock. Maria, Mike, and Rick discussed the remodeling of the City Hall/Civic Center complex. Rick advised the HVAC system will be done this summer with the Civic Center remodeling scheduled to begin 12/15. Diane advised the candidates for the open dispatch position had been interviewed on Tuesday. The top three candidates will go on to interview with Chief Downer. Jenny stated the street department is busy with potholes, potholes, and more potholes. Jenny also advised the garage employees like the new access road to the garage from 69th Avenue and stated they are not having any problems with unauthorized traffic entering at this time. Next Meeting: August 15, 2001, at 9 a.m. in the Council Chambers.
