Shape -Up 2001 Comments regarding the Poker Walk have been positive. Participants
enjoyed it and people have said we should do it again next year. The seated massages
also went well. Ten people signed up for massages and feedback was positive.
Candy Bar Fundraiser We discussed ordering candy bars from World's Finest and
selling them at the public works open house. After the meeting we asked for
administrative approval. The city manager offered to provide us with some funding so
that we don't have to do fundraising. We accepted his offer and cancelled the candy bar
sales.
Picnic The picnic is Tuesday, June 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food will be catered by
Flik, and the menu will be the same as last year. The City Manager gave approval for
casual dress on the day of the picnic. Jenny will make flyers /sign -up slips. EAC
members will distribute them to their departments, collect sign -up slips, and turn them in
to Bonnie before May 30. We will have a drawing, to be held around noon. EAC
members are asked to search for donated items for prizes. Gary will bring a portable
speaker system to use for announcing the drawing. Dave will coordinate getting the
picnic tables ready. EAC members are asked to help with set -up beginning at 10 a.m.
Bill Koncar will provide entertainment.
Holiday Luncheon Tentative dates are December 18, 19, or 20. Gary will check the
City Manager's schedule and Susan will check on availability of Constitutional Hall. If
the hall isn't available due to construction/remodeling, we will ask about using the West
Fire Station as an alternate site.
