HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999 05-21 EACM EAC Meeting Minutes May 21, 1999 Those present: Nancy Wojcik, George Jenrich, Shelli Regnier, Kelli Wick, Jean Gould Absent: Ron Boman, Gary Coleman, Carol Holt, Marc Booth, Steve Barrett�Al Hartman Approval of the Minutes The April 16, 1999 EAC minutes were approved. - New EAC Members Jean Gould is replacing Julie Melby for the Police Dept. Discussion of Brown Bag Seminar There was a good turnout. We had 40 attendees, and out of that there were 24 people who ordered lunch from Schlotskys. The only problem we really heard about regarding the food was it seemed like it was supposed to be a warm sandwich, otherwise most people said it was ok. The speaker was good and most people said they liked it. Next Brown Bag Lunch unch We are talking about doing another one in the fall, possibly in Aug. We will advise when a date is scheduled. We are looking at topics for the seminar through MCC, which puts on wellness seminars, the topic will be involving stress and health. More info on this at a later date. Employee Appreciation Picnic Flyers were sent out with the May 28th paychecks advising everyone to sign up by Friday June 11. It is set for June 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Central Park and if it rains it will move to Constitution Hall. New hours for the Public Works Garage Employ All employees at the garage are starting new hours effective June 7. The hours will be Monday through Thursday 6:30a.m. to 4:OOp.m. and Fridays 6:30a.m. to 10:00a.m. On a holiday week they will go back to current hours of 7:OOa.m. to 3:30p.m. for the 4 day week. This will go on through September.3, 1999. . Department/Division Updates Fire Department No report this time. Streets i No report at this time. Parks No report at this time. - Utilities No report at this time. Golf Course - Play has been slow due to weather conditions. A lot of league play has been cancelled. Mowing has also been hard because of wet conditions. Dick Newman says the course is in good shape otherwise. The golf course has a fax machine now, we believe the number for it is 560 -8652. - Engineering No report at this time. Administration There has been some discussion of joint training sessions for sexual harrassment with the City of New Hope but nothing is scheduled at this time. There is also talk of a possible wellness fair that Human Resources may put on this fall but nothing is set so far, will keep us posted. Assessing We are starting to review quartile properties in the southeast neighborhoods. We will be inspecting homes from June through September. We are currently interviewing for Assessing Secretary. Heritage Center No report at this time. Finance Sharon Kutzke started as the Staff Acct on May 27, 1999. Welcome Sharon!! Police. We are close to hiring for both the police officer position and the admin aide position but nothing final yet. We are also hiring for another part-time typist, the deadline was Friday i May 21. We hope to fill that as soon as possible. Nothing much on the construction front- we are still waiting for the stairs and windows to come and then there will be some changes going on.
