HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999 10-15 EACM EAC Meeting Minutes / October 15, 1999 Those present: Nancy Wojcik, Shelli Regnier, Kelli Wick, Carol Holt Absent: Ron Boman, Gary Coleman, Jean Gould, Marc Booth, Steve Barrett, Al Hartman, George Jennrich. Approval of the Minutes The Sept. 21, 1999 EAC minutes were approved. Next Brown Baiz Lunch We will be doing tours of EBHC Nov. 19. We had thought about doing Famous Daves BBQ for the lunch but they can't guarantee it will be hot when it gets here. Details will be sent out with the next paycheck. City logo T- shirts/Polos /Jackets There are 4 -5 companies we are looking at to do this next order. Currently we are looking at getting bids on T- Shirts, long & short sleeve Polos, Henleys and Jackets. We will let you know when we have more info. November Food Drive for CEAP CEAP is sending us flyers that tell us a little bit about what they do for the communities. We will put a flyer in with paychecks that go out on Oct. 29 and we hope to kick it off at the Brown Bag Lunch. T oys for Tots Collection and notification should start prior to Thanksgiving shopping weekend. Do we need a sign up sheet to spread donations across all age groups? Holiday Party It will take place on Dec 17 and we have tenatively scheduled someone to play piano for our entertainment. Carol Holt will help put out the flyer for this.... Thanks Carol!!!!!!! DMartment/Division Updates Fire Department No report this time. Streets l No report at this time. Parks & Rec The Halloween Party will be Oct 31 from 1 -3pm. Spaces are still available but you need to register by Oct 28. The Holiday Bazaar is Nov. 6 at Park Center from 9a -4p and there are flyers at the front desk. Kids Shopping Corner will be Dec. 4 and planning is under way for that. There was a special after school enrichment grant awarded to the city in the amount of $279, 944 for Sept 1, 1999 to Dec. 31, 2001. It is for programs to be held for at risk children in 7 elementary schools and the family resource center. In addition, the BC Crime Prevention Program will continue the summer bus program for picking up children at various apartment complexes and schools and taking them to Earle Brown Bowl, the community center pool and the library. The Rec Dept will serve as fiscal agent. Utilities No report at this time. Golf Course No report at this time. Engineering No report at this time. Administration Patty will be back around Nov. 29. Sharon, Maria and Rebecca are working on a new licensing system. There is a new permit system in place at the front desk. We have hired for the following positions: Housing Inspector, Public Safety Dispatch, EBHC Salesperson and Custodian. We are also hiring for the following positions: Public Safety Dispatcher, Police Officer and several part- time positions at EBHC. Assessing We are busy g lookin at permits now, we have over 700 to do at this time. Heritage Center No report at this time. Finance The City Council passed a motion approving to stay with Logis to have them continue working on our Payroll/HR/Finance software. We will also start training on the new JD Edwards software program for this group next year. Police They will start moving out of City Hall into their new building the end of this month. We wish them well in the move and hope everything goes smoothly.
