HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974 11-05 CCM Special Session-Election Canvass MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA SPECIAL SESSION NOVEMBER 5, 1974 CITY HALL Call to Order The City Council met in special session as an election canvass board at 9:00 p.m. Roll Call Mayor Cohen, Councilmen Britts, Fignar, Kuefler and Jensen. Also present were City Manager Donald Poss and City Clerk Allen Lindman. Canvass of City The City Council proceeded to canvass the City election Election Returns returns at the various City precincts, reporting ballots cast in City of Brooklyn Center contests as follows: Office of City Councilman Ballot Count Maurice Britts 4,624 Phyllis Plummer 2,810 Upon completing the election canvass, member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION Member Tony Kuefler introduced the following resolution NO. 74-193 and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION REGARDING CANVASS OF NOVEMBER 5, 1974 CITY ELECTION The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Robert Jensen, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof. Philip Cohen, Maurice Britts, Tony Kuefler, Bill Fignar and Robert Jensen, and the following voted iigainst the same, none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Adjournment Motion by Councilman Fignar and seconded by Councilman Jensen to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor were: Mayor Cohen, Councilmen Britts, Kuefler Fignar and Jensen. Voting against, none. The motion passed unanimously. The City Council meeting as a canvass board adjourned at 1:45 a.m. November 6, 1974. - Clerk ll-,X-74
