HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973 11-06 CCM Special Session-Election Canvass MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA SPECIAL SESSION NOVEMBER 6, 1973 CITY HALL Call to Order The City Council met in special session as an election canvass board at 8:30 p.m. Roll Call Councilmen Leary, g Britts Fignar and Kuefler. Also present were City Manager Donald Poss and City Clerk Allen Lindman. The City Council proceeded to canvass the City election returns at the various City precincts, reporting ballots cast in City of Brooklyn Center contests as follows: Candidates for the Office Ballot of City Councilman Count Robert Jensen 2,426 Michael Beauchane 1,720 Candidates for the Office Ballot of Mayor Count Philip Cohen 3,555 Maurice Britts (write -in) 10 Chester W. Haley, Jr. (write -in) 1 Bill Soddmann (write -in) 1 Frank Quigley (write -in) 4 Ralph McCartney (write -in) 1 John Arvidson (write -in) 3 Dave Olsen (write -in) 2 Father Dowd (write -in) 1 Dale Magnuson (write -in) 1 RESOLUTION Upon completing the election canvass member Tony NO. 73 -192 Kuefler introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION REGARDING CANVASS OF NOVEMBER 6, 1973 CITY ELECTION The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Maurice Britts and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: John Leary, Maurice Britts, Bill Fignar, and Tony Kuefler; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Adjournment Motion by Councilman Britts and seconded by Council- . man Fignar to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor were: Councilmen Leary, Britts, Fignar and Kuefler. Voting against: none.
