Of the City of Brooklyn Center in the County of
Hennepin and State of Minnesota
November 7, 1972
The City Council met in special session as an election canvass
board at 9:30 p.m.
Roll call: Councilmen Heck, Leary, Ausen and Britts. Also
present were: City Manager Donald Poss and City Clerk Allen Lindman.
The City Council proceeded to canvass the City election returns
at the various City precincts, reporting ballots cast in City of Brooklyn
Center contests as follows:
Candidates for the Two Offices
Of City Councilmen Ballot Count
Bill Fignar 7294
Tony Kuefler 7274
Jack Welsh 4839
Carl H. Gross 3649
Mayor Cohen arrived during the canvass of the election returns.
Upon completing the election canvass, Member Heck introduced
the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 72 -187
RESOLUTION REGARDING CANVASS OF NOVEMBER 7, 1972
CITY ELECTION
BE IT RESOLVED that it is hereby determined upon official canvass that
Bill Fignar and Tony Kuefler are declared to be the successful candidates for
two offices of City Councilmen of the City of Brooklyn Center.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Member Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted
in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Howard Heck, John Leary, Vernon Ausen,
and t\4aurice Britts; and the following oted against the same: none whereupon

said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
Motion by Councilman Britts and seconded by Councilman Ausen to
adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor were: Mayor Cohen, Councilmen Heck,
Leary, Ausen and Britts. Voting against: none, Notion carried unanimously.
The City Council meeting as a Canvass Board adjourned at 11:50 p.m.
