September 14, 1971
The City Council met in spe -vial session as an Election Canvass Board
and was called to order by Mayor Pro-tem Howard 'Beck at 8 :30 ". M.
Roll Call: Councilmen Leary, Ausen, Beck and Willard. Also present
were: City Manager Donald Pose, and City Clerk Allen Lindman,
The City Council proceeded to canvass the Primary Electron returns
at the various City precincts.
Mayor Cohen arrived at 9:00 P. M.
The Canvass Board reported that ballots were cast as follows;

Upon completing the ele:.t:.ci canvass, member Howard Heck introduced
the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 71-185
RESOLUTION REGARD114G CANVASS OF SEPTEMBER 13, 1971 C11Y
PRIMARY ELECTION
BE IT RESOLVED that it is hereby determined upon official canvass that
Robert W. Jensen and t6aurice W. Britts are declared to be the successful two
candidates for the office of City Councilman of the City of Brooklyn Center and
that their names be offered on the General Election ballot November 2, 1971.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member John Leary., and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Vernon Ausen, Howard Heck and
Theodore WilIlard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon
said resolpaon was declared duly passed and adopted.
Mom, by Councilman Willard and seconded by Councilman Ausen to
adJourn the meeting, Voting in favor wers: Mayor Cohen, Councilmen Leary,
Ausen, Heck and Willard. Voting against: none. Motion carried unanimously.
