HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953 12-23 CCM Regular SessionMinutes of the proceeding of the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, including all accounts audited by said Council December 2 3, 1953 The Village Council met in regular session and called to order by Arthur Paulson, President, at 8 :00 P.M. The following members were present: Arthur Paulson, Merrill Stodghill, Wayne Gageby, Glen Sonnenberg and Paul Weekly. The minutes of the regular meeting held on December 9, 1953 were approved as read. Wayne Gageby made the motion which was seconded by Paul Weekly that the Malcolm's Lakeview Addition be accepted and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same, but plat not to be surrendered until bond is posted to cover street grading and surfacing. All members voting in favor of this motion, motion carried. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Paul Weekly to correct the sanitary sewer assessment on Lot 20, Block 4, Bellvue Acres covering property owned by Evald Johnson to $117.83. Motion carried. Motion made by Paul Weekly and seconded by Merrill Stodghill to authorize issuance of warrant in the amount of $5797.07 payable to Terry Bros., Inc., said warrant to draw interest at 4;6 if not paid when presented. Motion made by Merrill Stodghill and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Village Clerk accept an additional bond in the amount of 50% more than the amount of the bond now on file to cover additional street work in the Frank Burch's 2nd Addition. Motion carried. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Merrill Stodghill to approve the increase in salary of K. L. Nordquist from $70. to $95.00 per month retroactive to December 1, 1953. Motion carried. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Merrill Stodghill to create a working capital fund for the purpose of financing street oiling improvements and to temporarily transfer from the 1953 -B fund the total sum of $20,000 to the working capital fund, said $20,000 to include the amount of Jp, 8`7q �� previously transferred for the purpose of financing oiling improvements. The assessment accounts receivable for said oiling are also transferred to said working capital fund. Motion carried. Motion by Paul Weekly, seconded by Wayne Gageby, to transfer all remaining liability in Storm Sewer No. 1 Fund to the General Fund. All voting in favor of this motioq motion carried.
