HomeMy WebLinkAbout1953 09-09 CCM Regular Session#2012 2013 2014 2 Minutes of the proceeding of the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, including all accounts audited by said Council September 9, 1953 The Village Council net in regular session and called to order by Arthur Paulson, Mayor, at 8 :00 P.M. The following members were present: Arthur Paulson, Merrill Stodghill, Wayne Gageby, Glen Sonnenberg and Paul Weekly. The minutes of the regular meeting held on August 26, 1953 were approved as read. Member Wayne Gageby moved the adoption of the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE DUST TREATMENT OF 0LAA0s10 0 A AND PROVIDING FOR THE SPREADING OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR PAYMENT iaidvawl The Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center do ordain as follows: Section 1. The Village Council may order light street oiling or other dust treatment of the Village streets and alleys by resolution setting forth the streets and alleys to be treated, the treatment to be applied to the streets or alleys, and specifying that such work shall be done either by day labor or by contract. Section 2. The Village Clerk shall keep a record of the cost and the portion of the cost properly attributable to each lot and parcel of property abutting on the street or alley on which the work is done. Section 3. The charge to each abutting lot or parcel of land resulting from such treatment shall be spread against said lot or parcel of land as a special assessment under Minnesota Statutes 429.101 and other pertinent statutes for certification to the county auditor and collection the following year along with current taxes. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after it s publication. Member Paul Weekly seconded the foregoing motion, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Arthur Paulson, Merrill Stodghill, Wayne Gageby, Glen Sonnenberg and Paul Weekly; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said ordinance was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion made by Paul Weekly and seconded by Wayne Gageby giving the Minneapolis Gas Company authority to install 3 inch main on Aldrich Avenue from 56th Avenue North to 5619 (lot 5). All members voting in favor of this motion, motion carried. Motion made by Merrill Stodghill and seconded by Wayne Gageby to accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission, granting Mr. Al Lindeman permission to build a garage one foot from his property line, subject to Mr. Lindeman presenting a waiver from the abutting property owner.
