of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and
State of Minnesota, including all accounts audited by said Council
November 25, 1953
The Village Council met in regular session and called to order by
Merrill Stodghill, Trustee, at 8:15 p.m., Arthur. Paulson, President, arriving
a short time later.
The following members were present: Arthur Paulson, Merrill Stodghill,
Glen Sonnenberg and Paul Weekly. Wayne Gageby was absent.
The minutes of the regular session held on November 12, 1953 were
approved as read.
Motion made by Glen Sonnenberg and seconded by Merrill Stodghill
that the Village Clerk appoint the Judges and Clerks for the Village Election
on December 8, 1953, and to pay 75$ per hour for their services. All members
voting in favor of this motion, motion carried.
Motion made by Glen Sonnenberg and seconded by Paul Weekly that 50
Bench Markers be purchased from the Adler Steel Products Company at a cost of
$1.50 each. All members voting in favor of this motion, motion carried.
Motion made by Paul Weekly and seconded by Glen Sonnenberg to accept
the two checks in the amount of $1500.00 each for the grading and surfacing of
the streets in the J. R. Murphey Addition under the Village Engineer's
supervision. Motion carried.
Motion made by Glen Sonnenberg and seconded by Merrill Stodghill,
authorizing the purchase of a cab for the Hough loader, known as the Campbell
Cab, the cost being approximately $275.00 with a deferred payment date of 90
days. Motion carried.

Motion made by Glen Sonnenberg and seconded by Merrill Stodghill giving
the street supervisor authority to purchase a ton of salt for icy streets.
Motion carried.
Motion made by Glen Sonnenberg and seconded by Paul Weekly that
Earl Holmes be employed as a full time Clerk in the Municipal Liquor Store
at a salary of $300.00 per month retroactive to November 1, 1953. Motion
carried.
Motion made by Merrill Stodghill and seconded by Glen Sonnenberg
that under a prior understanding on or about September 1st Paul Weekly be paid
an additional 1% of the $85,000 Bond issues covering storm sewer, sanitary
sewer, blacktopping improvements, for the preparation of the assessment rolls.
All members voting in favor of this motion, motion carried.
