HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955 02-02 CCM Special Session 14 Minutes of the proceeding of the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, including all accounts audited by said Council February 2, 1955 The Village Council met in special session and called to order by Arthur Paulson, Mayor, at 8 :0o P.M. The meeting was held at the Earle Brown School. The following members were present: Arthur Paulson, Wayne Gageby, Allen Lindman and H. R. Jones. Glen Sonnenberg wae- &*sent. Qv"- 14W The Mayor announced that the meeting was open for.the consideration of a proposed improvement in the village consisting of the following: Construction of a sanitary sewer main interceptor line including lift stations, manholes, meter stations and all other usual sanitary sewer appurtenances along a route described generally as follows: Commencing at the intersection of 53rd and Avenues North; thence north along Lyndale Avenue to 73rd Avenue; and a lateral sewer main together with the usual appurtenances thereto along a route described generally as follows: Commencing at the intersection of 57th and Lyndale Avenues North, thence west along 57th Avenue to Morgan Avenue. The Clerk produced an affidavit of publication of notice of hearing on the proposed improvement showing two weeks publication thereof in the official . newspaper, the last publication being on January 27, 1955, which affidavit was examined and found satisfactory and ordered placed on file. The Mayor then called upon all property-owners present to present arguments either for or against the proposed improvement. After several hours of discussion by the interested property owners and hearing and considering all objections, and a majority of the property owners appearing opposed to said improvement, member Wayne Gageby introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION DEFERRING ACTION ON PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the Village Council defer action on said proposed improvement until a later meeting. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member H. Russell Jones, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Arthur Paulson, Wayne Gageby, Allen Lindman and H. R. Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion made and duly carried to adjourn. _J( Mayor Clerk
