HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969 07-15 CCM Special Session-Election Canvass Minutes of the Proceedings of the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center In the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota July 15, 1969 The City Council met in special session as the Canvass Board of the Election and was called to order at 10 :02 P. M. Roll Call: Philip Cohen,, John Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard. Also present were: D. G. Pass, Allen Lindman and B, E. Peterson The Mayor announced that the order of business consisted of the consideration of the returns of the election helm July 15, 1969. It was the report of the Canvass Board that ballots were cast as follows: The Question: Ballot Count Shall the City of Brooklyn Center issue "On- Sale" Liquor Licenses to private persons as provided by Minnesota Statutes 340 :353 as amended by Senate File 271, 1969 Minnesota Legislature? YES 1995 NO 223 After completing the foregoing canvass, member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 69 -264 RESOLUTION REGARDING CANVASS OF JULY 15, 1969 SPECIAL CITY ELECTION BE IT RESOLVED that it is hereby determined upon the foregoing canvass that the question: "Shall the City of Brooklyn Center issue "On- Sale" Liquor Licenses to private persons as provided by Minnesota Statutes 340.353 as amended by Senate File 271, 1969 Minnesota Legislature? is declared to be resolved in the affirmative. The motion for the adoption of the JQregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof, Philip Cohen,, John Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion by John Leary and seconded by Earl Rydberg, that the meeting be adjourned. Voting in favor were: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard, Voting against were: none. Motion carried unanimously. The City Council meeting adjourned at 14:05 P.
