Council of the City of Brooklyn Center
in the County of Hennepin and State of
Minnesota
September 20, 1967
The City Council met in special session and was called to order by
Mayor Pro -tem Howard Heck at 8:13 P. M.
Roll Call Howard Heck, john Leary, and Theodore Willard were present.
Also present were: D. G. Poss, Paul Holmlund, Richard Cihoski, James Lindsay,
Thomas O'Hehir, and Gene Hagel. Mayor Cohen and Councilman Erickson
arrived later in the meeting as noted below.
Motion by john Leary and seconded by Theodore Willard to reconvene
the 1968 Budget Hearing previously adjourned at the meeting of September 18th.
Motion carried unanimously. Councilman Erickson arrived at this point, at
8:18 P. M.
Mr. Pass proceeded to review the departmental Budget requests for
1968 with the Council. Mayor Cohen arrived during this discussion at 8:53 P. N.
M and assumed the chair from Mayor Pro -tem Howard Heck. Further discussion
of the 1968 Budget ensued.
Mayor Cohen read to the Council a letter he had received from the
Hennepin County Library System relating to the System's proposed future policy
of acquiring existing central library facilities, and noted that he and Mr. Poss
had arranged a meeting with Library personnel to determine if this future policy
would have any effect on the Brooklyn Center Library and therefore on the 1968
Budget.
Councilman Willard left the meeting at this point, at 10:50 P. M.
Motion by Howard Heck and seconded by Gordon Erickson that the 1968
Budget Hearing be adjourned until the Council meeting of September 25th. Motion
carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 10:55 P.M.
