HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966 03-28 CCM Regular Session r 183 Minutes of the Proceedings of the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota March 28, 1966 The Village Council met in regular session and was called to order by Mayor Philip Cohen at 7 :30 P.M. Roll Call: Mayor Philip Cohen, John Leary, Earl Simons, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard. Also present were: A. J. Lee, D. G. Poss, T. L. Hadd, P.W. Holmlund, Roger Van House, James Johnston, Thomas O'Hehir and jean Murphey. Reverend Christensen of Brooklyn Center Free Church offered the invocation. Motion by John Leary and seconded by Earl Simons to approve the minutes of the March 21, 1966 meeting as recorded. Voting for the motion: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Earl Simons and Theodore Willard. Not voting: Howard Heck. Motion carried. Motion by Earl Simons and seconded by Howard Heck to approve the minutes of the March 26, 1966 meeting as recorded. Voting for the motion: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, Theodore Willard and Howard Heck. Not voting: John Leary. Motion carried. The Village Council discussed the upgrading of the building code requirements applicable to multiple family dwellings. The Village Council received a progress report pertaining to the organization of the Capital Improvements Review Committee from Gordon Erickson, Chairman of the C. I. R. C. Steering Committee. .Motion by Earl Simons and seconded by Howard Heck to direct the Administrator to advise the representatives of Chrysler Motors Corporation of certain deficiencies in the plot plan of the proposedChrysler Motors facility on Osseo Road. Motion carried unanimously. Member Howard Heck left the meeting at 10 :25 P. M. Motion by John Leary and seconded by Earl Simons to accept the recommendation of the Administrator and appoint Clarence Belisle as Assistant Building Inspector at a salary of $600.00 per month, effective April 4, 1966. Motion carried unanimously. Member john Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -61 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENT NQ, 1966-6 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, John Leary and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. F r- 187 Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -62 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED STREET SURFACINQ IMPROVEY NT NO 1966 -7 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, John Leary and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member Earl Simons introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -63 RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 66 -27 ADOP'T'ED FEBRUARY 21, 1966 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, John Leary and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member Earl Simons introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -64 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENI NOS. 1966 -3 and 1966 -3A The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, John Leary and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -65 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ING LASE St SMNING IMP&Q NO, 1966 -1 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, John Leary and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member Earl Simons introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -66 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED CU RB & GUTTER IMPROVEACNT NO 1966 -2 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded member John Leary, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, John Leary and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. -2- 185 Member john Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -67 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NOS. 1966 -4 AND 1966 -9 AN D RECT N ADVERTISE ME NT FOR BIDS The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons , John Leary and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member Earl Simons introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -68 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR DEEP WELL IMPROVEMENT NO. 1965 -36A AND DIRECTING AD R EOR B The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, John Leary and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion by John Leary and seconded by Earl Simons to approve the following licenses: Vending Machine Licenses: Brookdale Motors 2500 - County Road # 10 Northport School 5421 Osseo Road Garbage & Rubbish Mauling Licenses: Richard Miller 5201 - North 6th St. Kenneth L. Younkin 3911 Dupont Ave. No. Food Establishment License: Jay's Brookdale 5601 Xerxes Ave. No. Motion carried unanimously. The bills having been audited, Earl Simons moved and John Leary seconded to order paid the bills set forth in the schedule dated March 28, 1966, and filed in the permanent record book.
