HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968 05-09 CCM Special Session r 39 Z ii of the Proceedings of the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center In the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota May 9, 1968 The City Council met in special session and was called to order by Mayor Philip Cohen at 8 :05 P.M. Roll Call: Philip Cohen, Earl Rydberg, Theodore Willard, and Howard Heck (arrived at 8 :07 P. M.). Also present were: D. G. Poss, Richard Schieffer, Dick Cihoski and Jerry Dulgar. The Mayor announced that the meeting was open for the public informa- tional hearing on the proposed zoning ordinance. Mayor Cohen briefly described the events that had preceded the formulation of the proposed ordinance. Mayor Cohen left the meeting at 8 :08 P. M. and Mayor Pro-tem, Howard Heck, assumed the chair. The City Manager explained to those in attendance the procedures the City had followed in the process of writing the proposed zoning ordinance and In developing the zoning map. Mr. Poss also discussed the mechanics of the zoning ordinance for the audience. Mayor Cohen reassumed the chair at 8 :18 P. M. while the presentation described above was in process. The Council and staff then answered questions for and listened to com- ments from the audience. Motion by Theodore Willard and seconded by Howard Heck to close the public informational hearing. Mayor Cohen commented on a letter he was drafting concerning Mayor Naftalin` s public pronouncement about a Metropolitan Police Force. The Clerk read the draft letter for the Council and those in attendance. Motion by Earl Rydberg and seconded by Howard Heck that the meeting be adjourned. Voting in favor were: Philip Cohen, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard. Voting against: none. Motion carried unanimously. The City Council meeting adjourned at 9 :37 P. M. Clerk Mayor -1-
