M. Roll Call: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard. Also present were: D.G. Poss and Allen S. Lindman. The Mayor announced that the order of business consisted of the consider- ation of the returns of the election held November 5, 1968. It was the report of the Canvass Board that ballots on local matters were cast as follows: Ballot Count for the Office of City Councilman: M Theodore L. Willard 6428 June Foslien 1 Wallace Bernards 2 William Arrell 4 John Doe 7 Harry Truman 1 R. J. Kneefe 1 For Referendum Questions: Shall the City of Brooklyn Center borrow money and issue its negotiable coupon bonds In the amount of not to exceed $1,,482,,000 for acquisition and betterment of a civic center? YES 7340 NO 3887 Shall the City of Brooklyn Center borrow money and issue its negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of not to exceed $472,000 for the purpose of providing money for acquisition and betterment of public buildings for munici- pal services including storage of street and flMM equipment? YES 7771 NO 3344 Shall the City of Brooklyn Center borrow money and issue its negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of not to exceed $296,000 for the purpose of providing money for acquisition and betterment of parks and playgrounds? YES 7787 NO 3402 Afta completing "the foregoing canvass, member john Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 68 -247 RESOLUTION REGARDING CANVASS OF NOVEMBER 5, 196.8 CITY' ELECTIONS -1- Lames 'BE IT RESOLVED that it is hereby determined upon the foregoing canvass that Theodore L. Willard is declared the duly elected City Councilman. BE IT RESOLVED that it is hereby determined upon the foregoing canvass that the referendum question: "Shall the City of Brooklyn Center borrow money and issue its negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of not to exceed $1, 482„000 for acquisition and betterment of a civic center? Is declared to be resolved in the affirmative. BE IT RESOLVED that it is hereby determined upon the foregoing canvass that the referendum question: "Shall the City of Brooklyn Center borrow money and issue its negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of not to exeed $472,000 for the purpose of providing money for acquisition and betterment of public buildings for municipal services Including storage of street and fire equipment? " is declared to be resolved in the affirmative. BE IT RESOLVED that it is hereby determined upon the foregoing canvass M that the referendum question: M "Shall the City of Brooklyn Center borrow money and issue V its negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of not to exceed V $296, 000 for the purpose of providing money for acquisition and betterment of parks and playgrounds? " is declared to be resolved in the affirmative. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, john Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard; and the following voted against the same none, whereupon said resolu- tion was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion by Theodore Willard and seconded by Earl Rydberg that the meeting be adjourned. Voting in favor were: Philip Cohen, john Leary, Earl Rydberg, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard.
