HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963 12-30 CCM Special Session p p- 77 Minutes of the Proceedings of the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota December 30, 1963 The Village Council met in special session and was called to order by Mayor Gordon Erickson at 7:30 P. M. Roll Call: Mayor Gordon Erickson, Phil Cohen, Henry Dorff, John Leary and Howard Heck were present. The invocation for the meeting was given by Rev. Westburg of Brookdale Covenant Church. Motion by Howard Heck and seconded by Henry Dorff to approve the minutes of the Council Meeting of December 23, 1963 as corrected. Motion carried unanimously. Member Phil Cohen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION SETTING, WAGES AND SAIARIES FOR THE YEAR 1964 WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center has considered salaries for village employees for the year 1964. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Village Council adopt the following salary schedules for the year 1964, which are to be made a part of the Wage and Salary Plan of Brooklyn Center. Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND APPROVING CONTRACT FORM WHEREAS, the Village Administrator and the Village Engineer report that on December 16, 1963 at 10 :00 A. lei. they opened and tabulated bids received for Furnishing of Fluoridation Equipment, Project No. 1963 -27, and that said bids were as follows: Davco, Inc. Well No. 1 $823.00 -2- 73 Well No. 2 $823.00 Well No. 3 $823.00 Well No. 4 $823.00 � Total $3,292.00 Wallace & Tiernan Inc. Well No. 1 $992.50 Well No. 2 $776.50 Well No. 3 $785.75 Well No. 4 $773.00 Total $3,327.75 WHEREAS, the specifications contained provisions wherein the Village of Brooklyn Center could, at its discretion, delete from all bid proposals the furnishing of equipment for Well No. 1, and WHEREAS, due to the natural fluoride content and relatively low pumpage. of Well No. 1, the Village Engineer recommends that fluoridation equipment j not be installed in Well No. 1, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center that the Bid of Wallace & Tiernan, Inc. in the revised total amount of $2,335.25, as to furnishing fluoridation equipment for Wells No's. 2, 3, and 4, Project No. 1963 -27 according to the specifications there- fore now on file in the office of the Village Clerk is deemed to be the lowest and best bid submitted for said work by a responsible bidder, and said bid is thereby accepted. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Phil Cohen and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Henry Dorff, john Leary, Howard Heck and Phil Cohen and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion by Howard Heck and seconded by john Leary to reduce the subdivision improvement bond for Brookdale Manor from $15,200 to $1500. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Phil Cohen and seconded by Howard Heck to approve the following licenses. The bills having been audited motion was made by Henry Dorff and seconded by john Leary to order paid the bills set forth in the schedule attached to these minutes and made a part thereof. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by john Leary and seconded by Howard Heck to appoint Eugene Hanson as a warming house attendant at a wage of $1.50 per hour.
