HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964 09-17 CCM Special Session r 257 Minutes Of the Fmceedings of the VilJAge Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota September 17, 1964 p The Village Council met in special session and was called to order by Mayor Gordon Erickson at 8 :00 P. M. Roll Call: Present were Mayor Gordon Erickson, Phil Cohen, john Leary, Henry, Dorff and Howard Heck. Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved Its adoption; RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND APPROVING CONTRACT FORM WHEREAS, the Village Administrator, Assistant Administrator, and the Village Engineer have reported that on Septerber 14, 1964 at 11 :00 A. M. they opened and tabulated bids received for Projects 1964 -25, 1964 -26, 1964 -30 1964 -34, 1964 -40 and 1964 -42 and that said bids were as follows: Knutson- Seurer, Inc. .......... . ...... $ 83, 928.40 Erwin Montgomery . . ... . ... . .. . . ... 88, 486.80 Petrowske & Ross 89, 646.84 Barbarrossa & Sons ....,,.,,,,,� 90,384.35 Crystal Excavating ,,, , ,,,, , , , , , , , , , 100, 689, 78 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center that the bid of Knutson- Seurer, Inc. in the amount of $78,003.40, as to furnishing of all work, labor and material in connection with Projects 1964 -25, 1964 -26 1964 -34, 1964 -40 and 1964 -42 according to the plans and specifications therefor now on file in the office of the Village Clerk is deemed to be the lowest and best bid submitted for said work by a responsible bidder, and said bid is hereby accepted. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Henry Dorff, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted In favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Henry Dorff, john Leary, Howard Heck and Phil Cohen and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Alexander , , . , , , , , , , 62 Hennepin Black Topping ............. . .. 70,987 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center that the bid of C. S. tvcCrossan, Inca in the amount of $49,,015.22 as to furnishing of all work labor and material in connection with projectsl964- , 1964 -47, 1964 -48, 1964 -49, 1964 -50, 1964 -51, 1964 -5.2, 1964 -53, 1964 -54 1964 -55, 1964 -56 and 1964 -57 according to the plans and specifications therefor now on file in the office of the Village Clerk is deemed to be the lowest and best bid submitted for said work by a responsible bidder, and said bid is hereby accepted. -1 259 j The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Phil Cohen, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson , Henry Dorff, john Leery, Howard Heck and Phil Cohen and the following voted against the same; None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Mr. Swenson, representing Village employees who hold membership in Local 49 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, discussed the union wage requested for 1965 with the Council. The Council determined to support the recommendation of the Metropolitan City Manager's Association and hold to a three percent general salary increase. The Council discussed the proposed 1965 budget. The Village Engineer reviewed with the Council the improvement projects to be discussed at the Assessment Hearings to be held September 21, 1964. Motion by Phil Cohen and seconded by Howard Heck to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously. The Village Council adjourned at 11:50 P.M. 4d.44 9. Mayor Jo7 Clerk -2- L
