Minutes of the proceedings of the Village
Council of the Village,of Brooklyn Center
in the County of Hennepin and State "of
Minnesota
January 25, 19+55
The Village Council met in regular session and was
called to order by Mayor Gordon Erickson at 7:30 P.M,
Roll Call: Present were Mayor Gordon Erickson, Phil
+Cohen, John Leary, Earl Simons and Howard Heck. Also present were
Treasurer T. L. Willard, A. J. Lee, D. G. Poss, P. W. Holmlund, .'
T. t. Hadd, and Reverend Bubna.
Reverend Bubna offered the invocation.
Motion by Phil Cohen,, seconded by Howard Beck to
approve the Minutes of the January 8 1965 Council Meeting as
corrected. Motion carried unanimously.
Member Phil Cohen introduced the following resolution
and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO.4 12
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BROOKLYN
CENTER PUBLIC IA. -ARY
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly sec-
ended by member John Leary and upon the vote being taken thereon the
following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Phil Cohen, John
Leary, Earl Simons and Howard Heck, and the following voted against
the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted.
Motion by John Leary and seconded by Howard Heck to'
direct the library architect to proceed in securing estimates on the
following possible changes in plans for the Brooklyn Center Library:
1. Provision of double glazing in lieu of specified single glazing.
2. Installation of brick interior finishes in the community room 'area,.
3. Forced humidification of library spaces.
Motion carried unanimously.
The> village Council discussed with various advisory
bodies the alternative courses of action open to the Village regard-
ing the development of the Earl Brown Farm Area.
The bills having been audited, Earl Simons moved and
,john Leary seconded to order paid,bills set forth in the schedule
dated January .2 8 , 6 1965 and filed in the permanent register book. � ,
Motion 'carried unanimously.
Motion by Howard Heck and seconded by John Leary to
appoint the following persons as temporary employees in the Park and
Recreation Department for the duties and salaries listed Effective
January 22, 1965:
Ester Hammen Children's Gymn instructor $2.50/hr.
Arthur D. Baardson Warming douse Attendant $1,.50/hr.
Motion carried unanimously.

Notion by John Leary and seconded by .Phil Cohen to ad-
journ. Motion carried unanimously. The Vi1jqge Council adjourned at
11:10 P.M.
