Minutes of the proceedings of the Village
Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center
in the County of Hennepin and State.of
Minnesota
February 1, 1965
The Village Council met in special session and was
called to order by Mayor Gordon Erickson at 7:30 P.M.
Roll Call: Present were Mayor Gordon Erickson, John}
Leary, Earl Simons and Howard Heck. Also present were: A. J. Lee,
m. G. Poss, P. W. Holmlund, Maclay Hyde, T. L. Hadd and Father
Nlortissy from St, Alphonsis Church.
Father Morrissy offered the invocation,
Mayor Erickson signed a proclamation designating the
week of February 7 to 13 as Scout week in .Brooklyn Center,
Meaber Phil, Cohen entered the meeting at 7:40 P.M
Motion by Howard Heck and seconded by John Leary tee
approve the minutes of the January 25, 1965 Council Meeting as
Corrected. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Phil Cohen and seconded by Howard Heck to,
table the,second reading of the proposed personnel ordinance until
- the February 8 Council Meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
Clerk Earl Simons appointed Donald D. Mason, 5657 Logan
Avenue North, to serve as a member of the Industrial Development
Commission, as a replacement for Mr: Simons,
Motion by Howard Heck and seconded by John Leary to
authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign the final plat of e Northbrook
Terrace Addition to Hennepin County. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Phil Cohen and seconded by Earl Simons to
approve the following license:
Rubbish Hauler 's License
W. W. Company 1600 Oregon Avenue South
Motion carried unanimously.
The Counci discussed the report of the water pollution
Control Commission on the proposed metropolitan sewage distract,
The Clerk read a letter from State Representative
Frenzel which expressed Mr. Frenzel's desire to assist the village
and its citizens on such issues and problems as may arise prior to
the resolution of dispute regarding the seating of a representative
from the Brooklyn. Center legislative district.
Motion by John Leary and seconded by Earl Simons to
reduce the escrow bond on Edling's 3rd Addition from the current
amount of $5,700 to the amount of $1,500. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Howard Heck and seconded by John Leary to ad-
journ. Motion carried unanimously. The Village Coun adjourned
at 21:20 P.M.
