HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965 03-01 CCM Special Session 209 Minutes of the Proceedings of the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota March 1, 1965 The Village Council met in special session and was called to order by Mayor Gordon Erickson at 7:30 P.M. Roll Call: Present were Mayor Gordon Erickson, Phil Cohen, John Leary and Earl Simons, Absent: Howard Heck. Also present: A.J. Lee., D. G. Poss, P. W. Holmlund, Ted Willard, M. R. Hyde, T. L. Hadd, and Reverend Donald Kern, Reverend Kern of the Brooklyn Center Church of Christ offered the Invocation. Motion by Phil Cohen and seconded by John Leary to approve the minutes of the February 15, Council meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by John Leary and seconded by Earl Simons to approve the minutes of the February 23, Council meeting as corrected. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by John Leary and seconded by Phil Cohen to table application #65001 submitted by W, 0. Patterson until the March 8 1965 Council meeting at the request of the applicant's attorney. Motion carried unanimously. Member Phil Cohen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:. RESOLUTION NO. 65 -21 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS FOR FURNISHING ONE (1) POLICE CHIEF'S CAR The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Phil Cohen,, John Leary,,, and Earl Simons and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member Howard Heck entered the meeting at 7:40 P.M. Motion by John Leary and seconded by Howard Heck to approve change order #G-1 to the General Contract for the Brooklyn Center Public Library in the ampMnt of $7,700.00. Motion carried unanimously. Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -22 T R 1023 The motion for the adoption of Ito foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Phil Cohen and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, Phil Cohen, John Leary and Earl Simons and the following voted against the same: None; w oreupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. _1,. 211 Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -23 RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ADOPTION OF HOUSE FILE NUMBER 212 AND REJECTING THE GENERAL CONCEPT OF COMPULSORY ARBITRATION FOR THE RESOLUTION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEE DISPUTES The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, John Leary, Phil Cohen and Earl Simons and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member Phil Cohen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -24 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ADOPTION OF SENATE FILE NUMBER 619 AUTHORIZING THE COORDINATION OF THE PERA- OASDI RETIREMENT SYSTEMS The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons and upon vote Ting taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, John Leary, Phil Cohen and Earl Simons and the following voted against the same: None,• whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -25 RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ADOPTION OF SENATE FILE NUMBER 378 PERTAINING TO THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF CONTRIBUTIONS TO T E PUBLIC EMPLOYEEg REMMENT EMPLOYEE A O IATION The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Ericksont Howard Heck, Phil Cohen, John Leary hnd Earl Simons and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member Earl Simons introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -26 RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ADOPTION OF HOUSE FILE NUMBER 488 PERTAINING TO THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PU& EMPLMES BZIMMENT AS OCIA TON The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Phil Cohen: and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, John Leary, Phil Cohen and Earl Simons and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -27 RESOLUTION ON DILAPIDATED JUILDING BILL (H. F. #246) ..2- 213 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Phil Cohen and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck John Leary, Phil Cohen and Earl Simons and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -28 RESOLUTION ON DILAPIDATED BUILDING BILL (S. F, 642) The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, Phil Cohen, John Leary and Earl Simons and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member Howard Heck introduced the fallowing resolution and moved its adoption; RESOLUTION NO. 65 -29 RESOLUTION DESIGNATING ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE HENNEPIN COUNTY LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Phil Cohen and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, Phil Cohen, John Leary and Earl_ Simons and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
