HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962 09-17 CCM Special Session 247 Minutes of the Proceeding of the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota M September 17, 1962 I The Village Council met in Special Session and was called to order by Mayor Gordon Erickson at 7 :45 P. M. I Roll Call: Mayor Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck,, Henry Dorff , and John Leary were present. Carl Carlson was absent. i Motion by Howard Heck and seconded by Henry Dorff to approve the minutes of September 10, 1962 as recorded. Motion carried. Motion by John Leary and seconded by Howard Heck to reconsider the application for a Special Use Permit for a nursing home, as submitted by George Hanson, to be located on Orchard Avenue between 67th Avenue & 68th Avenue. The matter is to be placed on the Agenda of September 24, 1962. Motion carried. Motion by Henry Dorff and seconded by john Leary to authorise the Mayor and Clerk to execute a deed transferring property for street right -of -way on Osseo Road as it abuts the Village Hall property. Motion carried. Me"iber Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION PLACING ON FILE AND OPENING TO PUBLIC I MEECTLON PROEQ= A SUggMENn BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, to order placed on file in the Clerk's office and opened to public inspection the proposed assessments on the following improvements: Street Improvement Nos. 1964 -62 1961 -36 1961 -38 1961 -52 1962.15 AND Water Hookups AND Sewer Connections The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Jahn Leary, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted In favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, Henry Dorff, and John Leary, and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion by john Leary and seconded by Henry Dorff to hold a hearing on Special Assessments at the Village Hall on October 8, 1962, at 8 :00 o'clock P. M. on the following improvement projects: Street improvement Nos. 1960 -62 1961 -36 1961 -38 1961 -52 1962 -15 AND Water Hookups AND Sewer Connections ..1- 249 Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved, its adoption; RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF FUNDS AND RELEASE I , F g§cgm MONES P NTER g IN WHEREAS, on March 22, 1961 the Industrial Centers, Inc* posted with the Village of Brooklyn Center a cash escrow in the amount of $5, 340.00 for the purpose of guaranteeing the grading and surfacing of 46th Avenue North encompassed with in R. L. S. #981, and I WHEREAS, the grading and surfacing of said 46th Avenue North has since been accomplished, and f WHEREAS, it has been determined that the assessment levy against Industrial Centers, Inc. amounts to $4,575.50, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council, Village of Brooklyn Center, that $4,575.50 of the escrow money be transferred from Investment Trust Fund to 1961 AB Special Assessment Fund, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the balance in the amount of $764.50 be returned to Industrial Centers, Inc. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by }ember John Leary, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, Henry Dorff and John Leary and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion by Howard Heck and seconded by Henry Dorff to determine to piece assessments for storm sewer project 111962 -20 on the assessment rolls for a period of 3 years on property which is owned by a housing developer. Motion carried. The Village Council discussed RecroatWn Department and Park Department budgets. Motion by Henry Dorff and seconded by Howard Heck to adjourn. Motion carried.
