Minutes of the Proceedings of the Village
Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center
in the County of Hennepin and State of
Minnesota, including all accounts audited
by said Council
September 29s 1959
The Village Council met in special session and was called to order by Mayor
William Super at 8:09 P.M.
Roll Call: Mayor Super, Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby and
Russ Jones were present.
Motion by Carl Carlson and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the Village
Council approve the minutes of the regular meeting of September 8, 1959 as
recorded. Motion carried.
Motion by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Carl Carlson that the final plat of
Donney's 5th Addition be accepted subject to all provisions of Platting 0rdinanoe,
bond to be posted and easement to be given the Village for storm sewer drainage
ditch outlet. Motion carried.
Member Carl Carlson introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK
(CONTRACTED BY DEVELOPER)
WHEREAS, Burch &Wise Construction, Inc., a developer has contracted
with Randall Bros. to construct the following improvements:
Water Main on Kyle Avenue in Burch and Wise Park
Addition and 5 services on June Avenue in said
addition.
WHEREAS, Randall Bros., have satisfactorily completed the above
improvements.
NOW, THEREF'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the
Village of Brooklyn Center:
1. Upon recommendation of the Village Engineer, the work
completed is hereby accepted and approved.
2. The value of the work performed is as follows:
Water Mains and services . . . . $3,119•
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
Clifford Wellman, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Super, Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby and Russ Jones,
and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was
duly passed and adopted.
Member Russ.,Jones introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:

WHEREAS, William Bobendrier, a developer has contracted with
Petrowske & Ross to construct the following improvements:
Water Mains - Indiana Avenue - 69th Avenue to 70th Ave.
70th Avenue - Indiana Ave. to Halifax Ave.
WHEREAS, Petrowske & Ross, have satisfactorily completed the
above improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the
Village of Brooklyn Center:
1. Upon recommendation of the Village Engineer, the work completed
is hereby accepted and approved.
2. The value of the work performed is as follows:
Water Mains and services . . . . $ 10,185.73
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
Carl Carlson, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Super, Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby and Russ
Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution
was duly passed and adopted.
Motion by Carl Carlson and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the Village
reimburse William Bobendrier $385.73 for water pipe laid benefitting adjoinin
property owners. Motion carried.
Motion by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Carl Carlson that a street bond in
the amount of $7,800.00 on Petit & Maurer's Willow Lane 2nd Addition be released.
Motion carried.
Motion by Russ Jones and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the drainage bond
in the amount of $1,000.00 for Pearson's Northport 5th Addition be released upon
the recommendation of the Village Administrator. Motion carried.
Motion by Carl Carlson and seconded by Clifford Wellman that a rebate be
issued Thorpe Brothers in the amount of $105.81 (Lot 13, Block 9, Northgate
Addition) as the special assessment was paid and they were assessed on the tax
statement. Motion carried,
The bills set forth on the schedule attached to these minutes and made a
part hereof entitled "The Bills Audited and Paid at the Meeting of September 29,
1959" were audited and ordered paid.
Motion by Russ Jones and seconded by Carl Carlson to adjourn. Motion
carried.
