HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958 08-19 CCM Special Session i Minutes of the proceeding of the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota August 19, 1958 The Village Council met in special session and was called to order by William N. Super, Mayor, at 8:15 P.M. Roll Call: William N. Super, Carl Carlson and Russ Jones were present and Clifford Wellman and Wayne Gageby were absent. (Wayne Gagepy arrived late as hereinafter indicated). Motion by Carl Carlson and seconded by Russ Jones that the Village Council approve the minutes of the special meeting of August 5, 1958. The minutes were approved as recorded. Motion carried. Wayne Gageby arrived at the meting at this point and took over his duties as Trustee. Member Russ Jones introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION VACATING A PORTION OF REGENT AVENUE: WHEREAS, a petition has been duly filed with the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center for the vacation of a portion of Regent Avenue North, and it appearing that said petition carries the names of all property owners abutting on said portion of said street, and WHEREAS, a notice of a public hearing on said proposed vacation to be held on August 19, 1958 was duly published on August 7, 1958 and August 14, 1958 in the Brooklyn Center Press, and three copies of said notice were posted on August 7, 1958 in conspicuous places within the village, and WHEREAS, a hearing was held pursuant to said notice on August 19, 1958 and all parties having been heard and no one appearing in opposition thereto, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. It is deemed to be in the best public interest to and the Village Council does hereby vacate that portion of Regent Avenue North described as follows: The South 251.7 feet of the West 30 feet of the West 1/2 of the S.E. 1/4 of the S.E. 1/4 of Section 33, Township 119, Range 21 as measured along the West line thereof , Hennepin County, Minnesota. 2. The village clerk is herewith authorized to certify a copy of this resolution and cause said resolution to be recorded with the Register of Deeds in and for Hennepin County, Minnesota. Passed by the Village Council this 19th day of Augu , 1958. Mayor Attest: r I The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Carl Carlson, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby, and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Village Council grant the request of Barron Church for "No Parking Signs" from the South end of the Church property to 55th Avenue North on both sides of Dupont Avenue North from 9 o'clock a.m. to 12 :30 on Sundays and two drop stop signs on 55th Avenue North at the intersection of Dupont Avenue North. Motion carried. Member Russ Jones introduced the following ordinance and moved its adoption: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PLATTING ORDINANCE TO REQUIRE THAT FINAL PLATS SHOW THE SQUARE FEET OF AREA IN EACH LOT THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER DO ORDAIN: 1. Paragraph B.- (b) -1. of Section 15 -105 of Chapter 15 of the Village Ordinance is hereby amended to read as follows "l. Data required under regulations of County Surveyor - accurate angular and lineal dimensions for all lines, angles, and curvatures used to describe boundaries, streets, alleys, easements, areas to be reserved for public use, and other important features. Dimensions of lot lines shall be shown in feet and hundredths, and the exact area in square feet of each lot shall be shown within each lot on the plat." 2. This ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage and publication. Passed by the Village Council this 19th day of Augu , 1958. Mayor Attest: r The motion for the adoption of the foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by member Carl Carlson, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declare( duly passed and adopted. Motion by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Carl Carlson that the Village Council release the street bond of Kenneth Bergstrom on Bergstrom's Lynside Manor 1st Addition. Motion carried.
