HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958 08-26 CCM Regular Session Minutes of the proceeding of the Village Council of the Village cLP Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, including all accounts audited by said Council. August 26, 1958 The Village Council met in regular session and was called to order by William N. Super, Mayor, at 8:10 o'clock p.m. Roll Call: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Wayne Gageby, Carl Carlson and Russ Jones were present. Motion by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Village Council approve the minutes of the regular council meeting of August 12, 1958. Minutes were approved as recorded. Motion carried. Motion by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the Village Council accept the final plat of Waite's 2nd Addition, subject to all restric- tions of the platting ordinance and bond being posted. Motion carried. Motion made by Russ Jones to commit Village of Brooklyn Center to make the following improvements in accordance with the resolution heretofore identified as Improvement Commitments for VA Loan Purposes. Said resolution shall have inserted in it the following: Property to be improved: Waites 2nd Addition Estimated cost: $4400.00 Date of completion: 12 months Improvements to be made: Street surfacing on Perry Avenue North from 61st Avenue North to 63rd Avenue North; East 1/2 of Regent Avenue North from 61st Avenue North to 63rd Avenue North; 61st Avenue North from Perry Avenue North to the back lot line West of Perry Avenue North; 61st Avenue North from Regent Avenue North to the back lot line East of Regent Avenue North. One tree on each boulevard of each lot; 3 street signs; one on 61st Avenue North and Perry Avenue North; one on 63rd Avenue North and Perry Avenue North; and one on 61st Avenue North and Regent Avenue North as shown on registered plat of Waites 2nd Addition. Builder: Stephen Construction Co., Inc. The foregoing motion was duly seconded by member Wayne Gageby and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said motion was declared duly passed and adopt- ed. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Russ Jones that the Village Council approve the following licenses, upon the recommendation of the Inspectors: Well Drilling License Paul Gilmer Hamel, Minnesota Electrical License Collins Electrical Co. 1+23 Washington Ave. No. Heating License Mill City Heating & 13005 County Road #6 Air Conditioning Conditioned Air 3010 Clinton Ave So* Equipment Standard Ileat.ing Co. 410 West Lake Street Thy Sii °.Z.UnG, Co, i400 St. Anthony -St. Paul Motion carried. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Carl Carlson that because the Village Council believes there is an immediate need of a stop and go semaphore signal at the intersection of 57th Avenue North and Highway 100, the Village Attorney is auLuhorized and directed to request same from the highway Department. Motion carried. Motion by Wayne Gageby and s!ccnded by Carl. Carlson that the Village Council retain the architectural firm of Shifflet, Backstrom, Hutchison & Dickey, Inc. for services in connection with the combination liquor store and fire station. Motion carried. Motion by Carl Carlson and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Village Council allow an overall cost of $16,200.00 for a'new'garage. Money to come from the Liquor Store Fund, Motion carried. 11 The bills set forth on the schedule attached to these minutes and made a part hereof entitled "The Bills Audited and Ordered Paid at the Meeting of August 26, 1958" were audited and ordered paid. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Clifford Wellman to adjourn.
