Super, Mayor, at 8:10 P. M. Roll Call: William N. Super, Carl Carlson, and Rues Janes were present. Clifford Wellman and Wayne Gageby =TTn* ='gets. Member Carl Carlson introduced the following resolution upon the recommendation of the Village Administrator and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract, Jerome P. Begin has satisfactorily completed the following improvement in accordance with said contract: Storm Sewer Improvement Project No. 1958 -45 NOW, TSERF ORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center: 1. The work completed under said contract is hereby accepted and approved. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Russ Jones, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Carl Carlson and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was duly passed and adopted. Member Carl Carlson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK W MWAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, Sandstrom & Hafner have satis- factorily completed the following improvement in accordance with said contract: Storm Sewer Improvement No. 1957 -36 NOW, TMUWORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Broukl n Center.: 1. The work completed under said contract is hereby accepted and approved. 2 The value of work performed exceeded the original contract amcurit by $130.00. 3. The vi.13.age officials are hereby directed to isaue proper order for final payment on said contract., taicing the contrac:tox ' s receipt in full. The total amount paid for said improvement project being $137,186.00. r The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Russ Jones, and upon vote: be g taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Carl Carlson and Russ Jones and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was duly passed and adopted. Member Carl"Ctl9cw introduced the following resolution upon the recommenda- tion of the Village Administrator and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract, Petrowske and Ross have satisfactorily completed the following improvement in accordance with said contract: Storm Sewer Improvement Project No. 1958 -49 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center: 1. The work completed under said contract is hereby accepted and approved. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Russ Jones, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Carl Carlson and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was duly passed and adopted. Motion by Carl Carlson and seconded by Russ Jones that the Village Council, accept the following petition for sanitary sewer: June Avenue North from approximately 180' South of 59J Avenue to 61st Avenue North. Kyle Avenue North from the proposed 60th Avenue North to 61st Avenue North. Date of public hearing to be set later. Motion carried. Motion by Russ Jones and seconded by Carl Carlson that the Village Council enter into a contract with Al Paulsen for dog catcher for the year 1959. Motion carried. Motion by Carl Carlson and seconded by Russ Jones that the Village Council release the following street bonds upon the recommendation of the Village Administrator: Garden City lst Addition #37S -32585 $10,000. Motion by Carl Carlson and seecmded by Wayne Gageby that the Village deed the public playground located in Brooklane Addition to School District 279, provided the Park Board pays th3 special assessments now assessed against the property. Motion carried. fiber Russ Jones introduced the following ordnance and moved its adoption: AN ORDINANCE ABOLISMG THE OFFICE OF CONSTABLE IN THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER ORDAINS: 1. A new section shall be added to the village ordinances as follows: Section 29 -301. OFFICE OF CONSTABLE ABOLISHED. gr:auant to the provisions of Minnesota Statute 212.3+, and the Village of Brooklyn Center having one or more regvJArly employed village police offieers, the office of constable is hereby abolished effective at the end of the term of the incumbents or earlier upon any vacana:y occurring therein more than thirty (3 days after publication hereof. 2. Tuts ordinance shall take effect from and after its legal publication. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by member Wayne Cageby, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said ordinance was duly passed and adopted. MwIer Wayne Gageby introduced the fallowing resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK WFUPIM :S, Carl Bolander and Sons and Dover Construction Co., Tno o have reimbursed the Village of B=rooklyn Center for the construction of street surfacing on the street in Dover's Lakeview Addition, NOW, TIIERFI!'OR^, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyh Center: 1. The street improvements completed in said addition are hereby accepted and approved. 2. Carl Bolander and Sons and Dover Construction Co., Inc. arp hereby released from further obligation in regard to Dover's Lakeview Addition,, and tLeir bonds in the amGi ut of $2,200.00 are hereby released. Motion by Rii3s Jones and soconded by Carl Carlson 1�aat the Village accept the checks from Brookdale Covenant Church and turn the fimads over to the Park _3_ I . Board for playground equipment. The Fark Board is to send a letter of thanks for same. Motion carried. Motion by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Carl Carlson that the Village Council accept the letter from the Brooklyn Center Volunteer Fire Department announcing the election of Carl Anderson as Fire Chief and John Linner as Fire Marshal for the year 1959, Motion carried. Clifford Wellman appeared at the meeting at this point and resumed his duties as Trustee. Motion by Russ Jones and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the Village Council approve the final plat of Rjelvik's 2nd Addition; upon all restrictions of the platting ordinance and bond being posted. Motion carried. The bills set forth on the schedule attached to these minutes and made a part hereof entitled "The Bills Audited and Ordered Paid at the Meeting of December 23, 1953 were audited and o rder e d paid. Motion by Carl Carlson and seconded by Clifford Wellman to adjourn. Motion carried.
