HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958 12-30 CCM Special Session Minutes of the proceeding of the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of H: nnepin and State of Minnesota, including all accounts audited by said Council December 30, 1958. The Village Council met in special session and was called to order by William N. Super, Mayor, at 7 :35 P. M. Roll Call: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby, and Russ Jones were present. Motion by Carl Carlson and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the Village Council approve the minutes of the special meeting of November 18th and the minutes of the regular meeting of November 25th. Minutes were approved as recorded. Motion carried. Motion by Russ Jones and seconded by Carl Carlson that the Village Cotmcil. accept the November Justice Report of John Wingard. Motion carried. Member Russ Jones introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HE&RING CN PROPOSED Sanitary Sewer IMPROVEMEUT No. 1959-1• 1IRMENS, it is proposed that there be constructed an im,aro•re­ meat consisting of the foll�.W:kng: Construction of sanii;ary sever on Admiral Lane from Admiral Place to Ekting Avenue Borth and on Admiral Place from Admiral Lane to Commodbre Drive. _. -1- WHEREAS, the village engineer has made a preliminary report advising that said proposed improvement is feasible and that it can be constructed at an estimated cost of $9,300.00, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The council proposes to proceed under authority granted by Chapter 398, Laws of Minnesota, 1953, as amended. 2. A public hearing on the proposed improvement shall be held at the Village Hall in the village on Tuesday, the 27th day of January 1959, at 8:00 o'clock P. M., and the clerk shall publish notice of the time and place of hearing by two weeks' publication in the official newspaper of the village. 3. The area proposed to be assessed for said improvement is as follows: All lots and parcels of land abutting thereon. 4. This proposed improvement shall be designated Sanitary Sewer improve- ment Ito. 1959 -1. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly second- ed by member Clifford Wellman, and upon vote being taken thereon the fallow i voted in s ng o favor thereof: William N. Member Wayne Gageby introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC RE&RING ON PROPOSED Sanitary Sewer IMPROVEMT NO. 1959 -2 WHEREAS, it is proposed that there be constructed an improvement consisting of the following: Construction of sanitary sewer to serve Lots 1 and Lots 20 through 33, Block 5; and Lots 9, 10, and 11 and Lots 14 through 29, Block 6 all in Pearson's Northport 3rd Addition; otherwise described as those lots abutting Pearson Drive from 500' West of Admiral Lane to Commodore Drive and Commodore Drive from Pearson Drive to Admiral Place. WHEREAS, the village engineer has made a preliminary report advising that said proposed improvement is feasible and that it can be constructed at an estimated cost of $14,125.00. NOW, TSEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows; 1. The council proposes to proceed under authority granted by Chapter 398, Laws of Minnesota, 1953, as amended. 2. A public hearing on the proposed improvement shall be held at the Village Hall in the village on Tuesday, the 27th day of January 1959, at 8:00 o'clock P. M., and the clerk shrill publish notice of the time and place of hearing by two weeks' publication in the official newspaper of the village. 3. The area proposed to be assessed for said improvement is as follows. All lots and parcels of laid abutting thereon. 4. This propoaed improvement shall be designated Sanitary Sewer improve- ment No. 1959 -2. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly second- ed by member Carl Carlson, and upon vote being aken tharecn the following g voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Clifford Wellmsn, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby, and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: Nuns; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. -2- Member Russ Jones introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED Sanitary Sewer IMPROVEMENT NO. 1959 - WHEREAS, it is proposed that there be constructed an improvement con- sisting of the following: Construction of sanitary sewer to serve Lots 1 through 14, Block 9; Lots 1 through 4, Block 8; all of Block 7; Lots 12 and 13 and Lots 52 through 64, Block 6, all in Pearson's Northport 3rd Addition, which is on Halifax Place from the South intersection of Halifax Avenue and Halifax Place to 130' South of the intersection of 61st Avenue North and Halifax Place and on Halifax Avenue from the South intersection of Halifax Avenue and Halifax Place to the North inter- section of Halifax Avenue North and Halifax Place. WHEREAS, the village engineer has made a preliminary report advising that said proposed improvement is feasible and that it can be constructed at an estimated cost of $22,170.00. NOW, TEKWORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The council proposes to proceed under authority granted by Chapter 39 Laws of Minnesota, 1953, as amended. 2. A public hearing on the proposed improvement shall be held at the Village Hall in the village on Tuesday, the 27th day of January 1959, at 8:00 o'clock P. M., and the clerk shall publish notice of the time and place of hearing by two weeks' publication in the official newspaper of the village, 3. The area proposed to be assessed for s aid improvement is as follows: All lots and parcels of land abutting thereon. 4. This proposed improvement shall be designated Sanitary Sewer improvement No. 1959 -3• The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Carl Carlson, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, Wapie Gageby, and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same; None; whereupon said resolution was declared.duly passed and adopted. Member Carl Carlson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED Sanitary Sewer IMPROVEMENT NO. 1959 -4. WHEREAS, it is proposed that there be constructed an improvement con- sisting of the following: Construction of sanit sewer on June Avenue North from approxi- mately 180' South of 59 Avenue North to 61st Avenue North and on Kyle Avenue North from proposed 60th Avenue North to 61st Avenue Ytorth. WHEREAS, the village engineer has made a preliminary report advising that said proposed improvement is feasible and that it can be constructed at an estimated cost of $13,420.00. NOW, TMERE.'+ORE, BE IT RF.SOLVbM by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: 1. A public hearing on the proposed improvement shall be held at the Village Hall in the village on Tuesday, the 27th day of January, 1 959, at 8:00 o'clock P.M., and the clerk shall publish notice of the time and place of hearing by two weeks' publication in the official newspaper of the village. 3. The area proposed to be assessed for said improvement is as follows: All lots and parcels of land abutting thereon. 4. This proposed improvement shall be designated Sanitary Sewer Improvement No. 1959 -4. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Wayne Gageby, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. The Mayor announced that the Council was met to receive, open and consider bids for one Police car. An affidavit was presented showing publication of advertisement for bids in accordance with law and ordered placed on file. The sealed bids which had been received were then presented. Alternate #1 $2,496.20 days 0 Alternate #2 $2,458,75 Alternate #3 $2,327.80 Delivery: 30 to 45 Member Wa yne Gageby introduced the ays e following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the bid of Bob Knowles Ford Co. sa to the furnishing of one police car, as per specifications, for $2,437.00 is deemed to be the best bid submitted by a responsible bidder for village purposes and said bid is hereby accepted. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded ty member Carl Carlson, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, Wayne GuCeby and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon gal.d resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
