January 21, 1958
The Village Council met in special session and was called to order by
William N. Super, Mayor, at 8:00 o'clock p.m.
Roll Call: William N. Super, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby, and Ross Jones
were present. Clifford Wellman was absent.
Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Carl Carlson that the Village
Council authorize the purchase of five life preservers and rope. Delivery to be
made on these items in the spring. Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Carl Carlson that Ken Ray
Realty be instructed to move the foundation at 6319 Orchard Avenue North to comply
with the Village ordinance. Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Russ Jones that the Village
accept the petition for sanitary sewer on the following streets:
East Twin Lake Blvd. from 51st Avenue North to 53rd Avenue North.
Lakeside Place
Greatview Avenue North
S3rd Avenue North from East Twin Lake Blvd. to Ewing Avenue North.
52nd Avenue North from East Twin Hake Blvd. to Ewing Avenue North.
Oak Street from East Twin Lake Blvd. to France Avenue North.
France Avenue North from 50th Avenue North to 53rd Place.
Ewing Avenue North from 50th Avenue North to 53rd Avenue North.
The Village Engineer is authorized to draw up estimates and date of hearing to be
set later. Motion carried.
Clifford Wellman arrived' at the meeting at this point and resumed his
duties as Trustee. 8:45 o'clock p.m.
Motion made by Carl Carlson and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Village
Council accept the petition from Pearson Bros. for water mains on the following

Winchester Lane from Noble Avenue North to Indiana Avenue North.
66th Avenue North from Noble Avenue North to Highway #
Indiana Avenue North from 65th to 66th Avenue North.
Village Engineer is authorized to draw up estimates and date of hearing to be set
later. Motion carried.
Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Village
Council approve the following Liquor Store Employee's salaries retroactive to
January 1, 1958:
James Fischbach $475 per month
Truman Nelson $425 per month
George Webber $325 per mouth
Part time employees $>1.50 per hour
Motion carried.
Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Carl Carlson that the Village
allow $100 per man for uniforms for Police Department, balance of cost to be paid
by the employees. Motion carried.
Member Russ Jones introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption;
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn
Center, Minnesota, that the bid of Electronic Communications Ser-
vice Company, as to the furnishing of forty (40) monitor radio
receivers, as to specifications, for $2,540.00 is deemed to be
the best bid submitted for a responsible bidder for village
purposes, and said bid is hereby accepted.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by menber
Wayne Gageby, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor there-
of: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Wayne 0ageby, Carl Carlson, and Russ Jones;
and the following voted against the same: None. Whereupon said resolution was
declared duly passed and adopted.
Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the
following licenses be approved:
Taxicab Wallace Nylen
Filling Station Randall Darmer
Cigarettes Lane's D -X Service
Randall Darmer
Motion carried.
Member Carl Carlson introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT
FOR BIDS FOR QASOLINE DIESEL
FM, AND MOTOR OILS.
1. The Pillage Clerk shall advertise for bids for gasoline..
diesel. fuel, and motor oils for village use under the specifi-
cations prepared by the Village Administrator.
2. Bid date is set for February 11, 1958 at 8 o'clock
p.m.
The motion for the adoption for the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Clifford Wellman, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor
thereof: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby, and Russ
Janes; and the following voted against the same: None. Whereupon said resolution
was duly passed and adopted.
Member Wayne Gageby introduced the following ordinance and moved its
adoption:
AN ORDINANCE CEMING THE NAME OF MEADOW LM
TO VINCENT AVENUE NORTH.
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOVS
1. A new section entitled 25 -405 is hereby added to the
village ordinances to read as follows:
Section 25 -405 MEADOW LANE - VINCENT AVENUE NORTH.
Meadow Lane lying within the Village of Brooklyn Center
is hereby renamed, and shall hereafter be known as
Vincent Avenue North.
2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after
its publication.
The motion for the adoption for the foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by member
Carl Carlson, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor there-
of: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Wayne Gageby, Carl Carlson, and Russ Jones;
and the following voted against the same: None. Whereupon said ordinance was
duly passed and adopted.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Russ Jones that the Village
Mter into an agreement with Harold Hannay that allows the Civil Defense Organiza-
tion of the Village to house a boat and motor and related equipment upon the pro-
perty known as 644$ Willow Lane,, w d �kLtborize Mayor to execute the same.
Motion carried.
Motion fade by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Russ Jones to adjourn, ration
carried.
