The Village Council met in regular session and was called to order�by
William N. Super, Mayor, at 8:00 P.M.
Roll Call: William N. Super, Carl Carlson, and Russ Jones were presnr - "

Motion made by Carl Carlson and seconded by Russ Jones to approve the

Motion made by Carl Carlson, and seconders by Russ Jones, to uphold the
rAcommendation of the Planning Commission and allow Dale Tile Co. a special pe:. - rt'-

Village Attorney to drag up an ordinance amending the present zoning ordinance by

Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Carl Carlson to direct the

Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Carl Carlson to direct the
Village attorney to draw up an ordinance amending the present zoning ordinance by
designating the following property commercial:

Hennepin County, Minnesota, lying West of State HigUvay Number O

Notion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Carl Carlson that the Village
Council uphold the recommendation of the planning Commission and defer decision on
the following property:
All that part of Lot Numbers Twelve (12) and Thirteen (13), Auditor's
Subdivision Number Two Hundred Eighteen (218), Hennepin County, Minnesot
lying East of State Highway One Hundred (100).
Notion carried.
Motion made by Carl Carlson and seconded by Russ Jones that the Village
Council uphold the recommendation of the Planning Commission and defer decision or
the following property:
All that part of Lot Fifty -seven (57), Auditor's Subdivision Number Two
Hundred Sixteen (216), Hennepin County, Minnesota, lying East of State
Highway Number One Hundred (100) .

Motion made by Carl Carlson and seconded by Russ Jones to direct the
Village attorney to draw up an ordinance amending the present zoning ordinance by
designating the following property commercial and restricting its uses defined as
R-8 in the proposed zoning ordinance dated April, 1957:

Village Attorney to draw up an ordinance amending the present zoning ordinance by
designating the following property cpmmercial subject to the proposed zoning ord-
inance and with the stipulation that building be constructed within 150' of
Osseo Road, except by special permit:

Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Carl Carlson that the Vil
Council uphold the recommendation of the Planning Commission and approve the pro -
posed plat of Lots 4, 5 6, 7, and 8, Block 1 and Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block 5,
Cameron Manor; subject'to the platting ordinance. Motion carried.
Wayne Gageby arrived at the meeting 9:45 p.m.
A public hearing was held on the question of building a new building
which would be an off -sale liquor store, well pumphouse, and temporary fire statim
and all persons present were given an opportunity to speak thereon.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Russ Jones that the Village
build an off - sale liquor store at the corner of 63rd Avenue North and Osseo Road,
which will be a part of well pumphouse and temporary fire station. Fire Department
is to be consulted on the portion of fire station building. Preliminary plans are
to be prepared by Shifflet, Backstrom, and Associates. Motion carried.
Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Carl Carlson that the Village
Council grant permission to Ken Ray Realty to erect a sign at the corner of 53rd
Avenue North and Osseo Road with the permission of the Dayton Company, Motion
carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Russ Jones tin t the Village
Council approve the application of Anthony Schann doing business as Bud's Texaco
Station at 6810 Osseo Road for a filling station license for the year 1957. Motion
carried.
Motion made by Carl Carlson and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Villair
Council approve the application of Sward and Urbrick Electric Co., 5330 Fremont
Avenue North, for an electrician's license. Motion carried.
Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Village
Council accept with regret the resignation of Dale Curry as of July 31, 1957.
Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Carl Carlson that the
Village of Brooklyn Center cooperate with Hennepin County on mosquito control.
Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Russ Jones that the Village
Council release the street bond on Pearson's Northport 3rd Addition upon the
recd mendation of the Village Engineer. Motion carried.
motion made by Russ Jones and seconded W Carl Carlson that the V1
enter into an agreement with Wallace Brusch on a fee basis arrangement for special
heating inspections. Motion carried.
Member Russ Jones introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR STORM saw IMPROVEMMT W. 1957 -3
AND DIRECTIM ADVFRTISEMOT FOR BIDS
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn
Center, Minnesota, as follows:
1. T49 plans and specifications for Storm Sewer Improvement No.
1957 -34 prepared by Minder Engineering Co., Engineer, are hereby
approved and ordered filed with the Clerk, upon the recommendation
of the village Engineer.
2.- The Clerk shall advertise for bids for such improvement by
publication at least once in the official newspaper and in the Cons-
truction Bulletin, the date of first publication not less than three
weeks prior to the .date fqr receipt of bids Said notice she.tl 8'!e
that no bids will. be donsidered unless sealed and filed 'and accompanied
by a cash deposit, bid bobd., eashier`ls check. or cortified .obeeir- payable
to the Clerk in the amount of not less than five..percent the bids.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Wayne Gageby, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor there-
of: William N. Super, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby, and Russ Jones; and the following
voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted.

FOR WATER MAIN IMPROVEMT NO. 1957 -31
AND DIRECTING AD ERTI,SEHM FOR BIDS
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn
Center, Minnesota, as follows;
1. The plans and specifications for Water Main Improvement No.
1957-31 prepared by Minder Engineering Co., Engineer, are hereby approved
and ordered filed with the Clerk, upon the recommendation of the Village
Engineer.
2. The Clerk shall advertise for bids for such improvement by
publication at least once in the officia newspaper and in the Cons-
truction Bulletin, the date of first publication not less than three
weeks prior to the date for receipt of bids. Said notice shall state
that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed and accompanied
by a cash deposit, bid bond, cashier's check or certified check payable
to the Clerk in the amount of not less than five percent of the bid.

approved and ordered filed with the Clerk, upon the recommendation _of the
Village Engineer.
2. The Clerk shall advertise for bids for such improvement by
Publication at least once in the official newspaper and in the Cons-
truction Bulletin, the date of first publication not lass than three
weeks prior to the date for receipt of bids. Said notice shall state
that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed and accoManied
by a cash deposit, bid bond, cashier's check or certified check payable
to the Clerk in the amount of not less than Five percent of the bid.

Carl Carlson, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof;

against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted.
