November 12 1957
The Village Council met in regular session and was called to order by
William N. Super, Mayor, at 8:30 p.m.
Roll Call: William N. Super, Carl Carlson, Clifford Wellman, and Wayne
Gageby were present. Russ Jones was absent.
In absence of Clerk Russ Jones, Village Accountant Kermit Kalleberg took
notes of the council meeting.
The Mayor announced that the Council was met to receive, open, and con -
sider bids for furnishing chlorinating equipment.
An affidavit was presented showing publication of advertisement for bids
In accordance with law and ordered placed on file.
The sealed bids which had been received were then presented. These were
opened, examined and found to be as follows:

Member Wayne Gageby introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption;
RESOLUTION TABLIM FURMMR AMON ON BIDS
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn
Center, Minnesota, that further action on the bids received for
chlorinating eq*ment be tabled for further study by Village
Engineer. Report is to be made to the Village Council meeting
November 26th, 1957. Successful bidder is to be notified by mail.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Carl Carlson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor there-
of William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Wayne Gageby, and Carl Carlson; and the
following against the same: None. Whereupon said resolution was declared
duly passed and adopted.
The Mayor announced that the Council was poet to receive, open, and con-
sider bids for furnishing one rigid steel building for garage purposes.
An affidavit was presented showing publication of advertisement for bids
In accordance with law and ordered placed on file.

Member Carl Carlson introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION TABLING FURTHER ACTION ON BIAS
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn
Center, Minnesota, that further action on the bids received for
one rigid steel building for garage purposes be tabled for fur
ther study. Report is to be made Thursday, November 14, 1957
at 5 :30 o'clock p.m. The bid will be awarded at this time and
successful bidder is to be notified by mail.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Clifford Wellman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Wayne Gageby, and Carl Carlson, and
the following voted against the same: None. Whereupon said resolution was declared
duly passed and adopted.
Motion made by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Vil-
lage Council release the off -site improvement bonds in the amount of $4o,o00.00 on
Garden City 1st Addition upon the recommendation of the Village Engineer. Motion
carried..
Motion made by Wayne Gagehy and seconded by Carl Carlson that the Village
Council approve the heating icense a p p lication of Peterson & Williams 208
g PP Co., s
Lyndale Avenue North. Motion carried.
Motion made by Carl Carlson and seconded by Clifford Wellman that $1000
off -site escrow be released on Balfany's Northport 1st Addition upon the recommen-
dation of the Village Engineer. Motion carried.
Motion made by Carl Carlson and seconded by Wayne Gageby that James R.
Fischbach be authorized to sign checks on the check cashing bank account known as
the Special Liquor Store Account and that Truman Nelson be authorized to sign checks
on the check cashing bank account during the absence of James R. Fischbach and the
Camden. Northwestern State Bank be notified. Upon vote being taken thereon, the fol-
lowing voted in favor thereof: Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, and Wayne Gageby;
and the following voted against the same: William N. Super; whereupon said motion
was declared duly passed and adopted.
Motion made Clifford Wellman and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the peti-
tioned request of Raymond Fagre to have the Building Inspec?tor re-inspect said peti-
tioner's business premises be denied. Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the
Village Council uphold the recommendation of the Planning Commission and deny a spe-
cial permit to Julien Skindalien to construct a three car garage with two efficiency
apartments on second floor at 1821 - 55th Avenue North. Motion carried.
Motion made by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Carl Carlson to adjourn.
Motion carried.
