September 20, 1955
The Village Council met in adjourned regular meeting and was called
to order by Arthur Paulson, Mayor, at 8:00 P.M.
The following members were present: Arthur Paulson, Allen Lindman,
Glen Sonnenberg, Wayne Gageby and H. R. Jones.
Motion made by H. R. Jones and seconded by Allen Lindman to accept
the Justice report of John Wingard for the month of July, 1955. Motion carried.
Motion made by Glen Sonnenberg and seconded by Allen Lindman to accept
for road purposes the Deed of Rice Brothers Incorporated to the following
described property:
The Northwesterly 30 feet of the following described premises:
Commencing in the Northwest corner of the Northeast 1/4 of
the Northeast 1/4; thence South 518 feet; thence Fast to the
Southwesterly line of State Highway No. 152; thence Southeasterly
525 feet along said Southwesterly line to the point of beginning
of land to be described; thence West 200 feet; thence
Northwesterly 75 feet parallel with the Southwesterly
line of Highway No. 152; thence West to the Southeasterly line
of State Highway No. 100; thence Southwesterly to the South line
of the Northeast 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4; thence East to the
Southwesterly line of Highway No. 152; thence Northwesterly to
the beginning, Section 10, Township 118, Range 21.
Rice Brothers Incorporated have deposited with the Village Clerk a Certified
Check in the amount of $1,000.00 to cover cost of grading and surfacing the
foregoing described premises.
Motion made by Glen Sonnenberg and seconded by Wayne Gageby to
uphold the recommendation of the Planning omission and permit Vernon Franzen
to divide Lot 25 Lilac View Addition, into two 70 by 150 foot lots facing
Meadow Lane. Motion carried.
Motion made by Glen Sonnenberg a8d seconded by Allen Lindman to
uphold the recommendation of the Planning ommission and permit M. C. Balfany
to sell by metes and bounds description a parcel of ground directly adjacent
to and north of Lot 1, Block 4, Balfany's Northport lst Addition. Motion
carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Allen Lindman to uphold
the recommendation of the Planning commission and permit Henry Woyke to sell
by metes and boumb description Tracts B, C, D and F of his Registered Land
Survey dated July, 1955, provided Woyke furnishes deed to the Village of
Brooklyn Center for Tracts A and G for road purposes. The Vilbge Engineer
is to investigate continuance of east and west roads. Motion carried.
Motion made by H. R2 Jones and seconded by Glen Sonnenberg to approve
purchase of helmets for Ci-Al Defense. Motion carried.
Motion made by H. R. Jones and seconded by Wayne Gageby to authorize
purchase of transit from H. A. Rogers Co. Motion carried.
Motion made by Allen Lindman and seconded by H. R. Jones to approve
purchase of shelving for Liquor Store. Motion carried.
Motion made by Glen Sonnenberg and seconded by H. R. Jones to increase
George Jenson's salary to $160.00 per month. Motion carried.
