of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County
of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, including all
accounts audited by said Council
November 9 1955
The Village Council met in regular session and was called to
order by Arthur Paulson, Mayor, at 8 :10 P.M.
The following members were present: Arthur Paulson, Wayne
Gageby, Allen Lindman and H. R. Jones. Glen Sonnenberg came at 10:30.
The minutes of the regular meeting of October 12, the special
meeting of October 19,,and the regular meeting of October 26 were read
and approved.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Allen Lindman to
table until the meeting of November 23 the proposed plat of Bslfany's 2nd
Addition until Minder Engineering Co. brings in a recommendation of dis-
position of proposed Northport Lake. lotion carried.
Member Wayne Gageby introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING
ON A PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT
WHEREAS, a, petition of property owners has been filed in the
office of the village clerk for the construction of a proposed improvement
consisting of the following:
Construction of a secondary sanitary sewer interceptor line

to serve the area bounded as follows:
On the west by the village limits;
On the'north by the village limits;
On the east by a line 300 feet east of and parallel to Highway
#152
On the south by the extension of 67th Avenue North.
WHEREAS, the village engineer has made a preliminary report ad-
vising that said proposed improvement is feasible and that it can be con -
structed at an estimated cost�of $61,800.00,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the
Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows:
1. The council proposes to proceed under authority granted by
Chapter 398, Laws of Minnesota, 1953•
2. A public hearing on the proposed,improvement shall be held
at the Village Hall in the village on Wednesday, the 14th day of December
1955, at 8:00 o'clock P.M., and the clerk shall,publish notice of the time
and place of hearing by two weeks publication in the official newspaper of
the village.
3. The area proposed to be assessed for said improvement is
as follows:
All lots and parcels of land lying within the
area described above.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member H. R. Jones, and upon vote being taken thereon and all
present voting in favor thereof, said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted.

Motion made by Allen Lindman and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the
Village Clerk appoint the Judges and Clerks for the Village Election on Decem-
ber 6, 1955, and to pay $1.00 per hour for their services. All members present
voting in favor of this motion, motion carried.
Motion made by H. R. Jones and seconded by Wayne Gageby to write a
letter to the Veterans Administration guaranteeing there will be no special
assessments against Marvin H. Anderson Construction Company on the John
Ryden 2nd Addition, providing that Gust Holm deposits with the Village a
certified check in the amount of $1500.00 to guarantee completion of street
and tree work. Motion carried.
Motion made by H. R. Jones and seconded by Allen Lindman to re-
lease street and tree bonds for Burch's 2nd, 3rd and 4th Additions, sub -
ject to Village Engineer's approval. Motion carried.
Motion made by H. R. Jones and seconded by Wayne Gageby to trans-
fer back to Storm Sewer #1 Fund $10,000.00 from 1955 -A Fund to reimburse
Storm Sewer #1 Fund. Motion carried.

Motion made by Allen Lindman and seconded by Wayne Gageby to author-
ize Liquor Store to buy shelving from The General Fireproofing Co. in the
amount of $292.24 delivered and erected. Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by H. R. Jones to author-
ize Liquor Store to buy an incinerator from Currier's of Minnesota, Inc. for
$158.00 delivered and installed. Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by H. R. Jones to author
ize Minder Engineering Co. to complete overall Village water survey, in-
cluding method of financing. Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Allen Lindman to pay
all casual Liquor Store help $1.50 per hour starting November 1 1955, pro-
viding work schedule submitted by James Fischbach is followed. Motion car -
ried.
Motion made by Allen Lindman and seconded by H. R. Jones to pay
all part time Police Department employees at the rate of $1.50 per hour be-
ginning November 1 1955. Motion carried.
Motion made by Allen Lindman and seconded by H. R. Jones to in-
crease the salary of Richard Jennrich and Truman Nelson, Liquor Store em-
ployees, to $321.00 per month beginning November 1, 1955, and changing their
rate to Range 29, step "C ". Motion carried.
