Super, Mayor, at 8:00 P.M. The following members were present: William N. Sulaer, W Gageby, Allen Lindmen and Clifford Wellman. Rues Jones was absent. in the abbe bf Clerk Jones, Sdwiu C. The Mayor then called upon all property owners present to present arguments either for or against the proposed improvement. After hearing and considering all objections, and the property owners appearing in f` of said improvement, member Allen Lindman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: 'tYPION ORDERING IMOVENEWT AND APPREE3MG DRUILED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS i BE IT RZSMVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota as follows: 1. It is determined hereby that it is necessary and for the best interests of the Village sad the owners of property specially benefited thereby that the following improvement shall be constructed: Construction of a water production and supply system to be laid over the following described streets: All streets set forth in the Notice of Hearing and recited above. Said improvement shell be designated hereafter Water Tmprovownt Ito. 1956 -19 • The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly - seconded by member Clifford Wellman, and upon vote being taken tbereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super,'Allen Lindmsn, Clifford Wellman and Wayne Gageby, and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Kerber Wayne Gageby introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption; RESt'?L1MION ACCEPTING BID AND APPROVING CONTRACT FOW WIRREAS, the Village Engineer has reported that on April 26, 1956, at 10:00 o`clock P.N., be opened and tabulated the bids received for meter improvement No. 1956.19, part I, and 'that said bide metre as fallow s : -2- NO. Barbaxoses• And Sons, Inc., and Nodland Construction Company., Inc., a Joint Venture 159,945.50 NOW, TH MFM, BE IT R$SMVED by the Village Coxmil of the Village of Brooklyn Center as follows; The bid of Lametti & Sons, Inc. as to the furnishing of all work, labor and material in connection with Water Improvement No. 1956 -19, part I according to the plans and specifications therefor now on file in the office of the Village Clerk, is deemed to be the lowest and best bid submitted for said work by a responsible bidder, and said I bid is hereby accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the form of contract proposed for execution between the Village and Lametti & Sans, Inc, is approved, and the Mayor and Clerk are authorized hereby and directed to execute the same on behalf of the Village upon the filing with the Village Clerk of a bond in the amount of $139,699.76 with an approved corporate surety, conditioned for the faithful performance of said contract. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Allen Lindman, and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Wayne Gageby, Allen Lindman and Clifford Wellman, and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon s4id- resolutiosn was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seeanded by !Allen Lindmsn that in consideration for sewer easement across the South Fi n feet of Lot 3, Block 4, Balfany's Northport let Addition, the Village of Brooklyn Center will install sewer stub to foundation of John P. murp1by house at 5336 Northport Drive and will convey to said John P. MurpW the following described property: A tract of land beginning at the Southwest comer of the South 135 feet ct the North 755 feet of Lot 34, Auditor's Stbdiv sIon NO. 216, thence !forth 135 feet, thence Southeasterly to a point 20 feet East from the point of beginning and lying in the south f the South 135 feet of the North !set of said Lot 34, thence West 20 feet% the point of beginning. Motion carried. Motion made by Clifford Wellman and seconded by William N. StAper to terminate all cheeit cashing in the Municipal Liquor Store. Wellman aad Super voting aye.. LiaidOw noting nay, Gageby voting nay until further investigation emn be made. Motion not carried. Motion made by Allen Lindman end seconded by Clifford Wellman to present to the Railroad and Warehouse Conmission of the State of Minneso" a petition for extended bus servieft on the following route: South Village IU*ts north on Bryant Avenue to 55th Avenue, thence west on 55th Avenue to lent Avenue, thence north on Fremont Avenue to 60th and return,, weth service to be every half hour or ortenfr wing the midday and every twenty minutes during rush hours.
