HomeMy WebLinkAbout1956 07-31 CCM Special Session Minutes of the proceeding of the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hepepin and State of Minnesota July 31, 1956 The Village Council met in special session and was called to order by William N. Super, Mayor, at 8:00 p.m. The following members were present 1. William N.,Super, Wayne Gageby, Allen Lindman, and Russ Jones. Clifford Wellman was absent. Motion by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Allen Lindman to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of July 10, 1956, and the spedal meeting of July 17, 1956, as they were recorded. Motion carried. The Mayor announced that the Council was met to receive, open and consider bids for Storm Sewer Improvement No. 1 95 6 -3+- The Clerk presented affidavit showing publication of advertisement for bids in the official newspaper, which affidavit was examined and found to be in accordance with law and ordered placed on file. The sealed bids which had been received were then presented. These were opened and examined and found to be as follows: No. Name of Bidder Amount of Bid 1. Lametti & Sons Inc., 105.507-11 Member Wayne Gageby introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION TABLING FURTHER ACTION ON BIDS BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Centex, Minnesota, that further action on the bids receivedfbr Storm Seder Improvement No. 1956 -34 be tabled for further examination by the Engineering Department, successful bidder to be notified at later date. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Allen Lindman)' and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Allen Lindman, Wayne Gageby, and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution wag declared duly passed and adopted. Motion by Russ Jones to make an addendum to the motion made at the February 14, 1956, Council meeting regarding a special permit to Rees, Thomson, Scroggins, Inc, The motion should be as follows: "Motion made by Allen Lindman and seconded by Clifford Wellman to uphold the recommendation of the Planning Commission and approve special permit to Rees, Thomson, Scroggins, Inc., to construct two buildings on property zoned industrial at France Avenue North and Highway #100. A paint store and warehouse to be built on Tract "C1 Registered Land Survey ,# and a Lumber yard to be built on Tract "B ", Registered Land Survey #%6. Motion carried." Motion seconded by Allen Lindman. Motion carried. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Russ Jones to accept deed for street purposes on Tract "F" and Tract "G", Registered Land Survey 46.
