Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center
in the County of Hennepin and State of
Minnesota
October 2, 1956
the Village Council met in special session and was called to order
by William N. Super, Mayor, at 8 :15 o'clock p.m.
T.ie following members were present: William N. Super, Clifford
Wellman, Allen Lindman:, Wayne Gageby, and Russ Jones.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Allen Lindman to
approve the minutes of the special session of September 13, 1956 and the
regular meeting of September 18, 1956. The minutes were approved as
recorded. Motion carried.
The Mayor announced that the Council was met to receive, open, and
consider bids for a two -way portable radio for the Civil Defense.Resc'ue
truck..
An affi4avit was presented showing publication of advertisement for
bids in accordance with law and ordered placed on file.
The sealed bid, which had been received was then presented. The bid
was opened, examined, and found to be as follows:

Member Wayne Gageby introduced the following resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOUMON ACCEPTING BID
BE IT FMOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn
Center, Minnesota:, the bid of Motorola Co=miaations and
Electronics, Inc., 817 Kilpatrick Building,, Omaha, Nebraska, for
one two -way portable radio for the Civil Defense rescue truck, �.
as to specifications, for $629.50, is hereby found, determined,
and declared to be the most favorable bid and is hereby accepted.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by member Russ Jones and upon vote being taken thereon the
following voted in favor thereof: William Ni. Super, Wayne Gageby,
Allen Lindman, Clifford Wellman, and Russ Jones; and the following voted
agaUtt the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly
pabiled and adopted.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Clifford Wellman to
accept the petition for sanitary sewer on Drew Avenue North from
Avenue NozU to 59th Avenue North. This project is to be tabled for
further s't3y. Motion carried.
Motion made.by Allen Linden and seconded by Clifford Wellman to
accept Us final plat of Balfany's Northport 2nd Addition, subject to
all restrictions of the Platting ordinance. Bond to be posted. Motion
carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gapby and seconded, by Allen Lindman to
release the street 'pond for the Lawnridge Addition, upon the recommenda-
tions of the Village Engineer. Motion carried.
Member Clifford Wellman introduced the following resolution and the
ordinance contained therein and moved its adoption:
WHEREAS, a petition has been presented to the Village 401
Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center requesting
that the Village detach Lot 1, Auditor's Subdivision
No. 328, Re:anepin County, from the Village of Brooklyn
Center so that the same may be annexed to the Village of
Crystal, and it appearing that said petition is signed
by all of the property ot-mers having an intarost in
said tract and said property being now contiguous to
the Village of Cr-Jstal, and it appearing tbat 'the
detachment of said property is in the public interest,
KOW, TMEFORE., BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council
of the Village of Brooklyn Center, that the Village of
Brooklyn Center adopt the following ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE DETACHING TAT ONE
AUD11OR'S SUBDIVISION NO. 328,
HDUWIN COMM.. MINNESOTA, FROM THE
VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER AND Amex
THE SAME TO ME VILLAGE OF CRYSTAL
THE VILLAGE COUZIL OF 70 VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER ORDAINS;
Section 36 -101, Lot One (l), Auditor's Subdivision No 328,
Hennepy,s hereby detached from the Village of Brooklyn Center
and annexed to the Village of Crystal.
Section 36 -102. This ordinance shall be in force from and after
its p blication anT upon the adoption by the Village Council of the
Village of Crystal of an ordinance annexing said tract to the Village
of Crystal.
Member Mayne Gageby seconded the adoption of the foregoing resolution
and ordinance, and upon vote being taken the following voted in favor
thereof: William N. Super, Clifford Wellmant_Allen Lindman, Wayne
Gageby,and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: lone;
whereupon said resolution and ordinance were declared duly passed and
adopted.
Motion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Warne Gageby to extend
the special assessment hearing until October 9,1956. Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Russ Jones to adjourn.
Motion carried.
