Super, Mayor, at 8 :00 o'clock P.M. The following members were present: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Allen Lindman, and Wayne Gageby. Russ Jones was absent. In the absence of Clerk Jones, Dale F. Curry, Accountant, took notes of the meeting. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Clifford Wellman to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of November 13, 1956. The minutes were approved as recorded. Motion carried. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Allen Lindman that the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center go on record to oppose the 1% tax contemplated by the C.L.I.C. Wayne Gageby and Allen Lindman voting in favor **Ab c and William N. Super and Clifford Wellman abstaining from voting. Motion carried. . Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the Council uphold the recommendation of the Planning Commission and a special permit be granted to Lloyd Krone to park a trailer house at his home at 5800 Halifax Avenue North until April 30, 1957. Motion carried. Motion made by Allen Lindman and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Council uphold the recommendation of the Planning Coam ssion and a permit be granted to Mr. Clymer to build a 26' x 15' store building immediately adjacent to the present store building at 59th & Lyndale Avenue North, and he is to provide for off- street parking on the South side of the new building. Motion carried. Motion made by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Allen Lindman that the Council uphold the recommendation of the Planning Comnssioa that Arnold Blank be allowed to plat two lots 72' wide facing 64 Avenue and a 90' lot facing France Avenue North. Motion carried. Motion made by Allen Lindman and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Council uphold the recommendation of the Planning Commission and allow Chris Andersen to sell three 74.5' wide lots, 146' deep facing on France Avenue North by metes and bounds description. Motion carried. Member Wayne Cageby introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: R$SM UTION ACCBWTING BID BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the bid of The National Cash Register Company, Main and K Street, Dayton 9, Ohio, for a cash register for the Liquor Store, as to specifications, for $2,140., is hereby f favorable bid and 'it - found, determined and declared to be the most or hereby accepted. The Village Council feels that dealing direct Vith the manufacturer would be to our advantage and also the credit balance feature would be more convenient. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Clifford Wellman and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N. Super, Wayne Gageby, Allen Lindman, and Clifford Wellman; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. -1- Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Allen Lindman that the Village release the bonds for street improvements in Wichterman's r Addition, based upon the recommendation of the Village Engineer. Motion carried. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the Village Council hereby cancel the contract that we have with the Layne- Minnesota Company and that the Village Attorney take such steps as are necessary to protect the interest of Brooklyn Center in such termination of contract. This contract is to be cancelled due to failure to complete contract within required time. Motion carried. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the village accept the offer made by Layne - Minnesota Company on October 15, 1956, to complete a drift well, providing that they release the Village from any claim under the existing contract and that the monies heretofore paid in the amount of $2611.20 shall be applied against the $4710.00 price quoted in the October 15, 1956 offer. Motion carried. Motion made by Allen Lindman and seconded by Gageby that the Village uphold the recommendation of the Planning ommission approving the thoroughfare plan and that the Dayton Company be aQthorized to prepare a preliminary plan for the extension of 58th Avenue from Osseo Road to a Point on S7th Avenue just west of Shingle Creek. All engineering studies shall be at the Dayton Company expense. Motion carried. Motion made by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Village accept the following petitiam from Kenneth L. Bergstrom: Storm Sewer installation on Noble Avenue, Orchard Avenue, and Perry Avenue from 63rd to 65th Avenue North; Sanitary sewer installation on Noble Avenue and Orchard Avenue from 63rd to 65th Avenue, and water installation from Noble Avenue and Orchard Avenue from 63rd to 65th Avenue North. Petitions are to be placed on file. Notion carried. Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Clifford Wellman to accept the Fire Marshal report of John Linner from July 23rd to October 29, 1956. Motion carried. The bills set forth on the schedule attached to these minutes and made a part hereof entitled "The Bills Audited and Ordered Paid at the Meeting of November 27, 1956" were audited and ordered paid.
