February 26, 1957
The Village Council met in regular session and was called to order by
William N. Super, Mayor, at 8 :05 p.m.
Roll Call: William N. Super, Carl Carlson, Clifford Wellman, Wayne
Gageby, and Russ Jones were present.
Motion made by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Wayne Gageby to approve
the regular council minutes of February 13, 1957. Minutes were approved as
recorded. Lotion carried.
The Mayor announced that the Council was met to receive, open, and
consider bids for eater meters.
An affidavit was presented shoving publication of advertisement for bids
in accordance with law and ordered placed on file.
The sealed bids which had been received were then presented. These
were opened, examined, and found to be as follows:

Menber Clifford Wellman introduced the following resolution and moved
its adoption;
RESCLUTIOA ACCEPTING BID
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Villag* of Brooklyn Center,
Minnesota, that the bid of The Municipal Supply Co., Plymouth Building,
Minneapolis, Minnesota, for water meters, as to specificatlons, is
hereby found, determined, and declared to the lowest and best bid
submitted by a responsible bidder, and said bid it hereby accepted.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
member Wayne Gageby and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in
favor thereof: William N. Super, Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson., Wayne
Gageby, and Russ Jones; and the following voted against the same: None; where-
upon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby to commit'the Village of Brooklyn Center
to make the following improvements in accordance with the resolution heretofore
identified as Improvement Commitments for VA Loan Purposes. Said resolution
shall have inserted in it the following:
Property to be improved: Northgate Addition
Estimated cost: $27,900.00
Date of completion: 12 months
Improvements to be made: Grading and blacktopping
streets, sodding boulevards, signs, planting one
tree per lot an boulevards, signs, planting one
tree per lot an boulevards, install street signs
ih Northgate Addition, excepts Lots i through 5,
Block 1, and Late 1, 2, 3, 1 13, 14, 15, 16
and 17, Bloek 10, and Lot 18, Block 8.

The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Russ Jones, and upon vote being taken
thereon the following voted is favor thereof: William N. Sniper, Clifford
Wellman, Russ Jones, Wayne Gageby, and Carl Carlson; and the following voted
against the same: Name; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed
and adopted.
Mayor William N. Super made the following appoints for Park Board:
Paul Bullet Tern of three years
Dailds Lawrence Term of two years
Francis T. Irvin Term of one year
Motion mane by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the appoint -
ments made by William B. Super be accepted. Motion carried.
Mayor William N. Super made the following appointments for the
Recreation Commissions
Richard ring Term of two years
John Wingard Terra of two years
Bruce Marrow Tern of two years
Motion made by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Russ Jones that the appointments
made by William N. Super be accepted. Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the
Village consider the claim of Kenneth Bergstrom Justified and pay $715.00 from
the 1956 -C Fund to him, and a penalty of the same amount be reposed upon
McLean,, Astleford, and O'Brien Co, Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne;Gagrby and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the
Village Council uphold the recommendation of the Planning Commission in regard
to Pearson Bro'ther's Plan "A of a plat between Humboldt Jenue Worth and
Logan avenue North and 71st Avenue North and 72nd Avenue North, 'so far as the
platting is concerned and that the recommendation regarding condemnation of the
Land for 72nd Avenue North be denied. Motion carried.

Village rabate Kenneth 9618tron $9.35 on building permit no. 4239, wbieb. wa
inadvertently overcharged. Motion carried.
Motion made by, Russ Jones and seconded 'by Wayne by that the Village
accept the final plat of Wangstad's Brooklyn Terrace 3rd .Addition; subject to
all restrictions of the platting ordinance and bond being posted. Action earriod.
Notion made by Russ Jones and seconded by Clifford Wellman that the
Village Council approve the application of Arrowhead Plumbing Co, for a plumbing
license; subject to receiving bond, lotion carried.
Motion made by Russ Janes and seconded by Wayne Gageby to authorise the
Village EngUler to draw up specifications for a used and new 1250 gallon
distributor a 2J ton truck with dump body and plow. Motion carried.
Motu made by Russ Jones and seconded by Wayne Gageby that the Village
accept the deed of Harold W. Hannay and Bertha R. Hannay for the following
property: Tract "A ", Registered Land Survey No. 631. The property is to be
used for purposes only. Motion carried.

voted against the edme: None; whereupon said ordinance was declared duly passed
and adopted.

Minnesota, as follows:
1. The construction of sanitary sever laterals 1956 -18, wad
1956 -45 are hereby approved, based upon the recommendation of the
Village Engineer and the Consulting Engineer.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Russ Jones and utpoa vote
being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: William N SUPsa,
Clifford Wellman, Carl Carlson, Wayne Gageby, and Russ Jones; and the fpllovIM
voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly

Motion made by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Russ Jones that the
Vile accept the justice report of Ray Benson from January 15, 1957 to
February 19, 1957• Motion carried.
Motion made by Wayne Gageby and seconded by Russ Jones that the
Village accept the petitions for sanitary sewer on Major from 69th Avenue North
to 70th Avenue North and oil stabilizing on Major Avenue from 69th Avenue North
to 70th Avenue North and on 70th Avenue North to Osseo Road. Hearing date to
be set later. Motion carried.
The bills set forth on the schedule attached to these minutes and
made a part hereof entitled "The bills audited and ordered paid at the meeting
of February 26, 1957" were audited and ordered paid.
