TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Please take notice that the Planning Commission of the City of Brooklyn Center will hold a public
hearing on Thursday April 14, 2011 at approximately 7:00 p.m., at the City Hall, 6301 Shingle
Creek Parkway to consider the petition described below:
TYPE OF REQUEST: Planned Unit Development/Site and Building Plan Approval
PETITIONER: Loren Van Der Slik
PROPERTY NAMED IN THE PETITION: 1108 Brookdale Center
BRIEF STATEMENT OF CONTENTS OF PETITION:
Said proposed Planned Unit Development has been submitted by Loren Van Der Slik for Gatlin
Development Company, Inc. and includes the following:
1. The demolition of approximately 750,000 sq. ft. of the mall including the former J C
Penny's, Mervyn's and Macy's stores.
2. The renovation of approximately 123,242 sq. ft. of the mall located north of Sears with
architectural changes to provide exterior identity and access while maintaining an indoor
mall component.
3. The planned development of a 419,000+ sq. ft. community shopping center /Town Center
that includes a major anchor retailer with groceries, three junior box retailers, four
restaurant pad sites, and seven multi -tenant retail /service buildings.
4. The day - lighting of Shingle Creek and enhancements to on -site storm water management,
landscaping and lighting.
Auxiliary aids for persons with disabilities are available upon request at least 96 hours in advance.
