Adjournment F • MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA SPECIAL SESSION MARCH 22, 1982 CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER The Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority met in special session' and was called to order by Chairman Dean Nyquist at 9:49 p.m. ROLL CALL Chairman Dean Nyquist, Commissioners Celia Scott, and Bill Hawes. Also present were HRA Director Gerald Splinter, Director of Public Works Sy Knapp, Director of Planning & Inspection Ron Warren, City Attorney Richard Schieffer, and Administrative Assistant Tom Bublitz. Chairman Nyquist noted that Commissioner Lhotka was out of town and Commissioner Theis was ill this evening and that they were excused from the meeting. g APPROVAL OF MINUTES - MARCH 8, 1982 There was a motion by Commissioner Scott and seconded by Commissioner Hawes to approve the minutes of the March 8, 1982 Housing and Redevelopment Authority meeting as submitted. Voting in favor: Chairman Nyquist, Commissioners Scott, and Hawes. Voting against: none. The motion passed. RESOLUTION NO. 82 -8 Member Bill Hawes introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption; RESOLUTION APPROVING ONE (1) BROOKLYN CENTER HOUSING REHABILITATION GRANT The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Celia Scott, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dean Nyquist, Celia Scott, and Bill Hawes; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. ADJOURNMENT There was a motion by Commissioner Scott and seconded by Commissioner Hawes to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor: Chairman Nyquist, Commissioners Scott, and Hawes. Voting against: none. The motion passed. The Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority adjourned at 9:50 p.m. Chairman 3 -22 -82 -1- Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. LA RESOLUTION APPROVING TWO (2) BROOKLYN CENTER HOUSING REHABILITATION GRANTS WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority has established a Home Rehabilitation Grant Program to assist low and moderate income individuals in the maintenance and repair of their homes; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority has received two (2) applications from eligible individuals to receive grant assistance; and WHEREAS, an inspection by the City of Brooklyn Center has determined that the work is necessary and appropriate under the Brooklyn Center Housing Rehabilitation Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the proposed grant applications is estimated at $15,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority that: 1. The Brooklyn Center Housing and Redevelopment Authority does approve the two (2) housing rehabilitation grant applications as recommended by the staff. 2. That the work be performed as recommended by the staff and that the applicants be directed to obtain the necessary bids for staff review and approval. 3. The project shall not exceed the grant limits of $7,500 per house. The information in this memo is confidential and is not available to the general public. t 1. Steven C. Cutts, 6100 Fremont Avenue North. The following work is recommended: a. Reroof house (tear off and replace roof sheathing), b. Connect to City Water c. Vent roof d. Insulate attic and walls e. Replace rotted fascia and soffit (prime and paint same) c , 2. Edward H. Kubus, 4705 Lakeview Avenue North. The following work is recommended: a. Sand and refinish 'front door b. Finish siding house and trim windows c. Add 100 amp service and split circuits d. Caulk around bathtub e. Replace laundry faucet f. Replace living room storm window g. Add sidewalk to driveway h. Scrape and paint garage, r � p (
