The Pride in Your City Campaign is organ Led by the Conservation Commission and is intended to develop various _ spring clean -up projects in the City. The City will in turn convey the land 'to abutting property owners following completion of the project. Disposition - Member introduced the following resolution and -moved its adoption: RESOLUTIOly' �T - - -- RESOLUTION DECLARING APRIL 21. THROUGH APRIL 38 AS THE DATES FOR T ANNUAL "PRIDE IN YOUR CITY CAMPAIGN" WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Conservation Commission is sponsoring an annual community -wide cleanup and planting effort known as "Pride in Your City "; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center City Council enthusiastically supports this endeavor and encourages all citizens to participate in it: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of th City of Brooklyn Center to declare April 21 through April .30 , 1978 as the dates for the annual "Pride in Your City Campaign" in Brooklyn Center. F. Coyer & Associa -Les in - the amount of $3,450 for 1,000 feet of hose @$2. foot and 500 feet of 1 -1/2" hose @$1,.70 /foot is - the best quotation submitted; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the City Manager be authorized *to contract for the purchase of fire hose in the amount of $3,450 from C. RESOLUTION NO RESOLUTION REQUES'T'ING THE COMMISSIONER OF THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO C 01,RTFY SURPLUS REMNANT LA ND TO THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, > the Minnesota Department of Transportation proposes to construct noise abatement structures in the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is in the process of acquiring property along the south side of F.I. 94 from Noble Avenue North to approximately 1,100 feet easterly of Noble Avenue for said noise abatement structures; and WHEREAS, after completion of said acquisitions and construction, a strip of un.devel.opable remnant land- owned by the Minnesota Department of Transportation will exist between the said structure and abutting residential properties; and WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the City of Brooklyn Center to have said remnant land conveyed to the City of Brooklyn Center: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED b the- City Council of the City y y y of Brooklyn Center to request agreement from the Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation to convey surplus undevelopable remnant , land which will exist between the abutting residential properties and the proposed noise abatement structures along the south side of F.I. 94 from Noble Avenue easterly approximately 1,100 feet to the City of Brooklyn, Center for one dollar ($1.00) and other considerations after completion of said noise abatement project. RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SCHEDULE OF RATES AND FEES FOR THE USE OF AND CONNECTION TO THE SANITARY SEWED. - SYSTEM OF-THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CE NTER WHEREAS, a municipal - Public Utilities Department exists for the purpose of providing and maintaining water and sanitary sewer facilities for the citizens of the City of Brooklyn Center,-and WHEREAS, it is a requirement o -f the City Charter that the Public Utilities ?department be a self - sustaining entity through revenue provided by a uniform schedule of rate's, fees, and charges; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center did Last "amend the schedule of sanitary sewer user rates by adoption k of Resolution No. 71 -10 on January !a, 1971, and the schedule of fees and charges by adoption of Resolution No. 74- -149 on September 9, 1974; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director- of Public Works have recommended that increased disposal :costs to the Metropoli•ta^ V.aste Control Commission requires an increase in the schedule of sanitary sewer rates; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems that the new rate schedule be a "step rate" with annual increases; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission has increased the service availability charge to $400.00 for 1975; and ' WHEREAS, consistent with Chapter ll of the Brooklyn Center Ci.ty Charter, the City Council on March 27_, 1975, conducted a public hearing at which time an _opportunity was afforded all interested citizens to be heard: NOW, 'THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of The City of Brookl - ,rn Center that the schedule of sanitary sewer rates, fe=es, and: - charges be adopted in amended foam as follows RE SOLL rP IO INTO A MENDED SANITAR SEWER DI VISION RATE.
