Sewer Rental Agreement with ':Vlntropolitan Sewer Board Upon assuming interceptor service responsibility and owne!yrship. E the Metropolitan Sewer Board of necessity had to asaume the liability for Brooklyn Park's costs of sewer rental through our east side sewer system until an acrossa t he ri e;r inte rceptor was completed recently. The Sewer Board and the Director of Public Works have been negotiating for some period of time over the terms of the rental a mount with the matter recently being settled k : on the City`s, terms. These terms are merely a continuation of the rental agreement we previously had for a number of years with Brooklyn Park,, but they represent a sum approximately 2-'1 2 tunes what the Sewer Board was offering to pay. It is recommended r that the Council authorize the Mayor and City Mana9er to execute the now favorable rental agreement with the Metropolitan Sewer Boafrd Dispoaitiosth.�-"� Item 7b, Sewer Maintenance Agreement with Metropolitan Sewer Board The Metropolitan Sewer Board has Instituted a policy of contracting with local governments for t.hr. routine maintenance of sanitary sewer interceptors as thr,y pass through the respective communities. * , The terms of the proposed agr • cmants ere uniform in nature and can amount to maintenance effortf involving up to $ 91.0 in Brooklyn . Center. Northern States Street; Light Agreement In April Brooklyn Centc� is 5 -yeas street lighting agreement with Northern States Pcwer Company terminates. The power company has submitted a new 5 --year lease with provisions ., for periodic renewal thereafter. The terns and provisions of the prq -posed - agreement are essentially the same as in preceding years. IL is recommended, howeve that the City Council may wash to qualify approval of the agreement `+ such that street 1'ghtring service costs be subject to the ,., regulatory authori y of any subsequent metro or state- wide utility regu�3tion body.' Disposition Item 8. Resolution Autho *icing Purchase of Lawn Mower` The attached resolution is intended to authorise the purchase of lawn mower egLipment as comprehended by the 1972 budget. Sufficient funds -are appropriated in the budget to carver the cost of the equip ent. Pla sing Commission Application 'No. 71064 ra November 22, 1971, the city Council approved Planning Commission Applicatio..1 No. 71025 consisting of sit* and building plans for the View►con Brookdate Towers project at County Road 10 and Northway 'Drive. The City Council at the same time considered a request embodied in Application Ito. 71064 for a review of the staff interpretation relative to the method` -of calculating required parking spaces to support the project.
