Licenses 13 Ad journment CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS Item 5 League of Women Voters Presentation League of Women Voters member Phyllis Plummer will be present Monday evening to make a presentation to the City Council on the League's land use studies and recommendations. Disposition Item 6 Certification of Ordinance Initiative Petition Pursuant to City Charter provisions the City Clerk Monday evening will certify to the Council the sufficiency of an ordinance initiative petition pertaining to Chapter 5 of the City Ordinances Disposition Item 7 Authorize Release of Performance Bond It is recommended that the City Council authorize release of a $1Q ® 000 site performance bond posted by the Titus Company on behalf of the Lafayette Radio development at 5515 Xerxes Avenue North. f Disposition L Item 8a Regarding Participation in Suburban Hennepin Municipal Organization The attached resolution is submitted in response to City Council direction. Disposition Item 8b Awarding Bid for Brush Chipper The attached resolution is recommended for the purpose of awarding bids for a brush chipper budgeted in the park and Recreation Depart- ment account. Due to the inadvertent transposing of numbers during the budget preparation process, an accounting Identification number (Object No. 4553) was substituted for the estimated unit cost of $6,000 and the budget was adopted with the transposed figure. It will be recommended that the budget appropriation be increased by the incremental difference, said monies to be transferred from the Revenue Sharing Fund. Disposition f Item 10b Amending Chapter 85 (first reading) The attached ordinance is recommended for the purpose of executing the approved rezoning of property at 6437 Brooklyn Boulevard as comprehended by Planning Commission Application No. 75044. Disposition Item 11a Status Report on Pedestrian Bridges in Suburban Communities The Director of Public Works will be prepared Monday evening to present a status report on pedestrian bridge facilities in suburban communities. RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1976 GENERAL FUND BUDGET F WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter of the City of Brooklyn Center' does provide that the City Council may, by majority vote of its members, transfer G" unencumbered appropriation balances from one office, department or agency to ,another within the same fund; and {'.+ WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter does also provide that the City 5- Council may, I by majority vote of its members, increase a budget appropriation if the actual receipts exceed the estimates; and WHEREAS," on October 6, 1975, when the City Council adopted the 1 976 budget, salaries and wages for City employees had not been set and WHEREAS, the City Council did appropriate funds for departmental labor in the amount of $150,000 to Unallocated Departmental Labor to provide funds for ^' final salary and wage settlements; and WHEREAS, on December 22, 1975, the City Council did set'salaries and wages for the year 1976 for all non- organized City employees; and WHEREAS, on December 22, 1975, the City Council did also increase the maximum City contribution for the monthly hospital- medical premiums for its non - organized permanent employees by $10 per month; and r WHEREAS, on February 9, 1976, the City Council accepted a bid for ,f employee hospital - medical insurance coverage which increased the single monthly premium contribution for its non- organized permanent employees by $3.5.5 per month. and WHEREAS, on March 8, 1976, the City Council ratified 1976 pontract terms <' with Local No. 49, International Union of Operating Engineers; and i WHEREAS, a portion of the wage and salary increases are for Comprehensive � Employment ACT (CETA) positions which are funded by a federal grant: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to transfer $92,418 from the Unallocated Departmental Labor E s Appropriation (Account No. 01- 4100 - 000 -81) to the following departmental apps- priations and that the balance of $1 ,230 be funded by the Federal CETA'Grant; R N <' ELECTIONS AND VOTERS REGISTRATION Salaries, Regular Employees (01- 4100 - 000 -14) $ 1 ` 6 o i r RESOLUTION NO.
