Licenses 146 Adjournment E t CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS Item 5 .Approve Fire Department Training Exercise Harron Methodist Church, the owner of a dwelling at: 5505 Dupont Avenue North, has requested and the Assistant Fire Chief has recommended that the dwelling be razed by burning as a Fare Department training exercise. It is recommended that the City Council authorize the dwelling to be burned by the Brooklyn Center Fire Department. Disposition Item 6 Approve Performance Bond Reductions We will be prepared Monday evening to recamm :gad a series of developer performance bond reductions on the basis of :)n -,=ite inspections which are now underway, Disposition Item 7 Certification of Charter Amendment Petition The City Clerk has performed the task of verifying :1)j signatures on the recently presented Charter amendment petitions and Lars issued his certification of the petitions. Disposition Item 8a Approving Bid for 'Bituminous Oil r The attached resolution is recommended for the purp , - te of awarding the annual bid for furnishing bituminous oil necessary fogy° summer street maintenance. )Disposition Stem Bb Approving Bid for Plant -mixed Bituminous Material The attached resolution is recommended for the purpose of awarding the annual bid for plant- -mixed bituminous material Disposition 7 CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS Page 2 Item Sc Authorizing Bid for Stabilized Gravel & Seal Coat Aggregate The attached resolution is recommended for the purpose of 'awarding the annual bid for gravel and seal coati aggregate. Disposition Item Sd Authorizing Participation in Sign Replacement Program The attached resolution is recommended for the purpose of authorizing Brooklyn Center's participation in a state /federal traffic sign replace- ment program. The net effect of ;participating in the program will hopefully consist of, some financial reimbursement for an otherwise necessary program. Disposition Item 9 Citizens Committee Report & Recommendations on Fire Dept. Issue Mr. Ed Theisen, Chairman of the Citizens Committee studying the Fiore Department issue has requested an opportunity to present the Committee's report and recommendations to the Council. Mr. Theisen has suggested that the Council merely receive the report Monday evening,, review the report in the interim, and possibly deliberate on the report contents at the May 24 City Council meeting. Disposition Item I la. amending Chapter 35 Relative to Commercial 'Uses in the 1 -1 District The attached ordinance via s first read on April 5 1976, published on April 22, 1976, and is offered this evening for second reading and adoption. D1 sposition _ __ Page 3 _ Item l lb Amending Chapters 13 & 19 Relative to Regulations in City Parks The attached ordinance amending Chapters 13 and 19 is offered in response to the City Council's recent directive to prepare an ordinance prohibiting the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages in City parks. In addition, the proposed ordinance re- codifies and assimilates certain existing ordinance provisions, combining them with some new provisions to form a consolidated set of park regulations in ordinance form. Disposition Item I Za Grandview 'Park Football Field Status Report and Proposal I will be prepared Monday evening to present a status report on the Grandview Park football field improvement program which the Council discussed last year at budget time. _ Consistent therewith, I will be prepared to present a first phase proposal which will involve an amendment to the 1976 budget.
