Licenses 10 Adjournment I i CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS Items Declare Surplus Equipment It is recommended that the City Council declare one obsolete 1964 Internationals three - quarter ton pickup and one 1967 ten horsepower Mercury outboard motor as surplus equipment to be disposed of In the best Interests of the City. An attempt will be made to sell the pickup truck at the impending County auction and to dispose of the outboard motor on highest advertised quotation, Disposition Item 6a ` Urging Construction of Library The attached resolution Is recommended for the purpose of expediting the planning for the proposed Brookdale area Regional Library. The Director of Finance has prepared a memorandum summarizing con - cern about this legislation. Disposition Item 6k Opposing Application of H.F. 3124 to Chanter Cities The attached resolution is recommended for the purpose of expressing opposition to the application of the terms of H.F. 1124 to Minnesota cities which are governed by charters. The proposed legislation would usurp local charters regarding election processes and referendum processes Disposition Item 7d Authorize Planning Commission Resolution No. 75 -2 Regarding Proposed Brooklyn Park Rezoning It was recently brought to our attention that the City of Brooklyn Park Is considering proposals to rezone a large parcel of property on the northeast quadrant of 73rd and Lyndale Avenues North to the highest activity level commercial designation in their zoning ordinance. .A number of Brooklyn Center residents In the vicinity have requested intervention assistance in opposing the resorting proposal on the various grounds set forth in the attached resolution recently adopted by the Brooklyn Center Planning Commission. It is recommended that the City Council authorize intervention In the matter through transmittal of the attached Planning Commission resolution. Disposition Item 8a Uniform Alley Improvement Policy The Public Works Director will be prepared Monday evening to discuss his report generated by direction of the City Council to fail 1974.
