Meeting Minutes
June 11, 1996
PRESENT:
Dorff, McCarthy, Neilson, Roen, Bergeland, Cohen, Graham, Zastrow and
LaCrosse. The meeting was called to order at 7:37 a.m. by Dorff.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
There was a motion by Neilson seconded by Roen to
approve the minutes from May 7. Motion carried.
FINANCIAL REPORT
: Zastrow reported a balance of $19,106.51 as of June 11, 1996.
Zastrow reported deposits of $150 and $45.
ARTS & CRAFTS:
No report.
BINGO:
No report.
CAR SHOW:
No report.
FISHING CONTEST:
No report.
JUNIOR ROYALTY:
Graham said they have just started making the business contacts.
The children have been very busy.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL:
McCarthy said they have hired the Minneapolis Commodores.
Cohen passed out the agenda for the evening. Beginning at 6:30 Brookdale will welcome
everyone. Neilson will be the master of ceremonies. The program includes Mayor Kragness,
Junior Ambassadors, Hall of Fame and then the Brooklyn Community Band with the ice cream
social. McCarthy said Brookdale has been advertising a 6 p.m. starting time. They have
decided to serve ice cream at 6 p.m. The committee wanted to make sure that both the
Brooklyn Community Band and the Commodores had an audience to play for. McCarthy
suggested both groups play for a shorter amount of time. McCarthy will talk to the
Commodores, LaCrosse will talk to the community band. Northwest Community Television will
tape a program that evening at Brookdale.
FINANCE/BUDGET:
Cohen said it is down this year. He has called Firstar. He will
compare it to last years contribution list.
PARADE:
No report.
PICNIC/GAMES:
Dorff has collected over $700 in prizes and gift certificates.
Graham said she had face painters available to work at the picnic/games. They will need one
table and four chairs. LaCrosse said we should get a flyer made.

PUBLICITY:
LaCrosse said everything has been ordered. The posters should
be distributed as committee members go out to the businesses. She has sent out notices to
radio stations, television stations, and the newspapers. The ads have been taken out. She
asked if anyone had any additional suggestions.
SUBSTATION:
No report.
SUNDAY IN CENTRAL PARK:
LaCrosse said they would be hiring workers to fill the
balloons and asked Bergeland, Zastrow and Dorff if they would like to help pass them out to
the children on that Sunday night. Bergeland said Ruth at city hall has a list of Discover The
Center volunteers. She suggested sending out a letter to them.
8:10 a.m. Youngberg arrived.
10K & 2 MILE RUN/WALK:
They have a few registrations. LaCrosse said we should get
them on the computer. She received $20 donation from Anderson Drywell. The t-shirts have
also been donated.

There was a motion by Roen, seconded by Neilson to pay these bills. Motion carried.
