PUBLICITY:
LaCrosse introduced Linda Sauer from the Sun Post. She
will be coordinating the tabloid. Linda said she would like all the information by May 31
and would prefer working with one person. LaCrosse will get the information from the
committee members and will meet with Linda. Cohen asked what the color options are
for the cover. She said we can have anything. Cohen said he preferred brown and
red. He would like to see something different on the cover, possibly highlighting the
Saturday events. Bergeland said perhaps something like a banner focusing on family
fun. Holcomb said she would like to see something about diversity. LaCrosse said
some individuals feel they cant attend because of the emphasis on family. Holcomb
said maybe we could broaden the definition of family to community. Linda Sauer will
come up with some ideas and then have the committee look at them. LaCrosse said
she would like to see something on the community center birthday. She said Ruth at
city hall was wondering if anyone has old pictures of the community center or city hall.
Cohen suggested Paul Holmlund and the historical society.
LaCrosse said she has met with someone from the Star Tribune and we could do a
flyer insert. She asked if the committee would be interested in splitting the cost of the
flyer with the City. Entertainment In The Park would be on one side and the Earle
Brown Days schedule would be on the other side. Linda Sauer said she could do that
also. LaCrosse said it seems like we get a better response when the information has
been in the Star Tribune. Bergeland said she has noticed that too with the Heritage
Center publicity. Cohen asked LaCrosse to put together figures from both the Star
Tribune and the Post for the next meeting.
SUBSTATION:
LaCrosse said they are going to do a family movie night at the
General Cinema.
SUNDAY IN CENTRAL PARK:
LaCrosse said the entertainment is set and the
fireworks company is giving us extra fireworks this year in honor of the birthday.
LaCrosse said that Ruth had an idea to get Casey Jones to the celebration. Neilson is
working on that. Holcomb said he is a lake cabin neighbor and if Neilson cant reach
him, she can.

organizations. Linda said she would talk to Laurie Winters at the Post to see if it could
be included in the paper.
